Meet Zachary’s a Chicago style “deep dish” pizza restaurant with a California twist. Here in Berkeley I had the pleasure of eating this type of pizza for the 1st time and I am so happy right now enyoing this wonderful dish. So big, so hot, truly delicious😋😋 Eat inside, outside or take it to go, but please gift this experience to yourself, and share with your friends and family. Pizza is a social food, however Zachary’s has elevated it to pure luxury. One more thing Zachary's Chicago Pizza Bay Area 100% Employee-Owned pizza joint is celebrating 41 years with over 225 "Best Pizza" Awards.

Zachary‘s pizza is a long-standing Berkeley tradition, and I’ve been coming here for more than 20 years. This location is a bit smaller than the one on College Avenue and a little less crowded. Usually during the day it is wide open. At lunchtime, they sell slices of thin crust pizza, which is good, but they do not have individually sized deep dish pizzas like some places do. They’re deep dish. Pizza is excellent. In particular, the sauce is great. I wish they had the same crust as Little Star does, which is down Solano at the bottom, but their crust is still good. Zachary sausage is just as good as the sausage in pizza places in Chicago. A lot of people use inferior sausage, but theirs is great.

Great Chicago style deep dish pizza! The salads are also very generous in size. The meatballs in marinara sauce are also very delicious. Expensive, but worth it. Fast and friendly service

Carne pizza is highly recommended! Zachery’s special was ok. We ordered thin pizza and Happened to add anchovies, whole pizza became so so salty that we could barely eat. So be careful with toppings. But we finished the entire carne, it was so so good.

Got the Chicago and thin crust delivered. And both were terrible, the sauce had that canned/tinned aftertaste. The crust was hard like a cardboard, way too much cheese that ended up rubber like.

The deep dish was a little better, but not great. Maybe it's better if you go in person?

My daughter has been asking me to take her to a deep dish pizza spot for the longest time, and since we're still new to the area, I wasn't sure where to go. She found this place, and let me tell you, we will definitely be back! The staff was incredibly friendly, service-oriented, and just overall great. We ordered a deep dish pizza with sausage, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and added pepperoni because we love it on our pizza. It was absolutely delicious – hands down the best deep dish I've had! I also have to mention how thoughtful the staff was. A guest left their phone behind, and one of the staff members ran out to try and flag them down to return it. That little act of kindness really stood out to me. This is now my go-to spot for deep dish pizza!

They’re celebrating 40 years, so that says something. I know a lot of people across the Bay Area who go out of their way for this deep dish pizza. My husband said that ‘I made his day’ by telling him I was bringing him Zachary’s take out. We ordered it half baked, so he could enjoy after its arrival 30 hours later.

Amazing pizza here! My wife grew up eating here, and loves it. No other deep dish pizzas stacked up to Zachary’s. I am not normally a deep dish pizza person, but this was delicious. Not greasy or heavy. Great, tasty and fresh sauce. Fresh ingredients. The pizza is made to order; which is awesome! Expect about 20-25 min for thin crust, and 25-35 for deep dish…but def worth the wait! They have about 5 outdoor tables. Kid and dog friendly! Great vibe inside as well! We got a spinach salad, and it was lovely too. We will be back as much as we can!
