Our garbage collectors always do a fine job putting the cans in order and lined up well at end of our driveway. Just today, I watched the young man stop the truck and get out as he was leaving. He noticed his tire displaced some of the loose gravel. He carefully moved it back in place with his foot. That extra effort was appreciated!

The service is complete garbage to deal with in Mendota. We call and ask for garbage details. They said call a few days ahead to schedule bulk items for pick up. We call and say we have a box full of broken down boxes with Styrofoam in them as well. They proceed to say you don't have to schedule a pick up for that and to put it out. Garbage truck comes and goes without taking the item they said they would. We call and they refuse to come back to pick up said item and give a address in Dixon, 40 minutes away to drop it off. This is not very professional and a lack of accountability for a service that we are paying for. Not to mention we’ve attempted to ask all the proper questions ahead of time just to be mislead. Also, what about the time spent that was lost talking on the phone for nothing to be solved. Zero stars.

Prices have silently increased to nearly double, while also reducing the frequency of pick up. Charge huge fees to pick up their cans when you cancel service.

We have had Nicole Pena as our Account Manager for some time. I appreciate that Nicole has always been friendly, prompt in returning my phone calls and emails, always makes sure we receive fair rates and just in general goes above and beyond to help our small business. Have enjoyed working with her.

If I could give a ZERO, I would! Continued increase in prices, fees.... look elsewhere for services. DO NOT go with this company!!
Was told they reserve the right to change fees, even if in a contract agreement. Told me fee went up this month because of operational cost, whatever they can't recuperate, the cost gets passed on to the customers in increase fees. Fuel recovery this month 38% set by the department of energy. If you sign an agreement, for commercial, its 36 months and auto renews if you don't send a certified letter to them 60 days prior to renewal! WHAT?!

This is the wort company. Currently working with Republic due to Rivercity being bought out. They gave me the worst explanation as of why I got late fees!! Also their service went up by 34%. The reason is due to fuel percentage cost fee and disposal cost fee!!! Are you kidding me!!! Disposal cost fee!!!!! You are a garbage company, that is why we pay in the first place, to dispose of the garage. This company needs to be revalued at greater level. From reading all the reviews I think we should bring this up to our county commissioner or any other suggestion from the fellow reviewers. *************I am adding that after talking to one of the managers and she investigated what I was being charged, she was able to identify a mistake on their end. As of right now I did get credited for those extra charges and my account is back to my original contract. I do want to express that I might have been one of the few that got lucky? But thank you for looking further. I guess for other customers, just be consistent in getting to a manager so they can dig deeper Incase something is incorrect.

As many have been saying, Republic Services is not the waste removal service you want to be using. I recently moved to Ottawa and signed up with River City because they were the best reviewed (for good reason). They were soon bought out by Republic Services and quality has plummeted. Garbage pickup has been delayed a day (or two) every week for the past 4 weeks. We keep getting robo-calls saying it's due to "unforeseen circumstances." I can understand once, but at this point it should be "foreseen." So now my garbage and recycling stays out at the bottom of my driveway for days.

I groaned when I got the letter saying Republic bought River City. My worries were warranted. Managers at Republic should be embarrassed.

After a while their service did improve and stayed consistent. Recently the decreased their recycling pick up to once ever other week. Speaking personally, I thought it was fine because our recycling doesn't fill as fast as garbage. I didn't expect a price decrease for lowering their recycling services, but my cost has increased from around $110 every 3 months to $150 every 3 months. Lower the frequency of service and increase prices over 30%? Doesn't make sense.

I have started taking steps to find another service.

The amount of angry reviews over a trash/recycling service is wild. I’ve been using republic since I moved to Ottawa 3 years ago and never had an issue. I do wish the recycling was still every week but we make do.
