Every Thursday we have a Italian beef day with my friends and the only place that satisfies our craving is Marisa’s! We have gone here for over 15 years now and love it! Italian beef special garlic bread with cheese and hot peppers is amazing. It beats most of the others Italian beefs out there!

I work nearby and after a coworker said that they had a better Italian beef than Portillos, I had to see for myself.

I went there for lunch and lucked out and caught the Thursday lunch special which was an Italian beef with fries and a drink.

They brought out an Italian beef topped with a layer of melted mozzarella cheese wrapped in lightly toasted garlic bread (the garlic bread was $1 extra) and the sandwich was complimented by an order of perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries with a side of cheese for dipping (the cheese was $ .50 extra).

I took one bite and knew that I had made a great decision for lunch. It’s not better than Portillos per se, but they’re definitely on the same level so any Portillos fans out there reading this….I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I’m a fan and now going to be a regular customer.

As far as everything else, the staff was friendly, the rest it was clean with plenty of seating and the food was hot and delicious. It’s worth a try.

Marisa’s Pizza in Northbrook has its ups and downs. On the positive side, the pizza is pretty good, with a nice crust and fresh toppings. The menu offers a decent variety of options, and the prices are reasonable. However, the service can be hit or miss. During my last visit, the wait time was longer than expected, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. The dining area could also use a little more attention to cleanliness. Overall, it’s a decent spot for a casual meal, but there is room for improvement.

My friend and I came especially for New York Style Pizza and were not disappointed! It was absolutely delicious! We each got a salad, and they were cold, crisp, and perfect. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!

Lunch time quick stop. Best to get here before 12Noon, or there will be slim pickings. I frequent enough to know that the counter set-up can get hectic, the service is moderate and pizza is good at best for the location.

I love deep dish pizza and I love tavern style pizza. Marisa's pizza is somewhere in between. I ordered a large sausage pizza and requested the pizza to be sliced like a pie. What I ended up with is a pizza similar to New York style pizza except Marisa's pizza wasn't as soggy as New York style pizza. Overall, I think that it is a great pizza. I enjoyed the thickness of the crust and the cheese wasn't greasy. I noticed that they also sell pizza by the slice and they do not just sell them during lunch hours. My entire family enjoyed the pizza so we will definitely order from Marisa's again.

Great lunch menu and specials. Prices are great for cook county and food is quite good. Whether it be their pizza or their hot dogs or their Italian beef or their chicken parmesan, they are all good to great.

Only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that interior of restaurant was a bit run down. Not terrible but could use a redecorating or at least a coat of paint.

Otherwise this place is a treasure in the area for lunch. Would bet dinner is good too.
