I haven't been to this restaurant since they closed the one that was in Chicago. So when I went I had great expectations since I used to patronize them all the time. It was pretty crowded on a Sat evening, luckily we had reservations so we were Sat fairly quickly. The atmosphere was ok. The lightening was dim so a bit hard to read the menus. David was our host and he was engaging. The chicken pasta soup was surprisingly delicious. I had 1 of the specials of the evening which was kabob on rice. The kabob was actually seasoned pretty well. My friend had the red snapper, a special. He liked it but I personally thought it needed more seasoning. He also put salt and pepper on it after I tasted it. I didn't have a bad experience just not sure I would take the drive to go to this particular restaurant.

My friends and I visited this restaurant last Saturday. We started off with the calamari and it was delicious. Our server was courteous and checked on us frequently. I ordered the salmon, potatoes, and spinach. Food was delicious 😋

Excellent steak offerings in a cozy upscale dinner experience. My prime rib was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My one request to sub in a different side dish was taken care of without problem, and each course was prepared quickly and efficiently. The ambiance is dim and cozy and I liked that it was not too loud, we could have a conversation at the table.

J Alexander’s has been around for a while. Long enough that — it was a frequent visit back in the day. I was just driving by a few locations and said to myself. I wonder if they are still good. And after a recent visit. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Their menu has changed over the years and has become very limited. Which, is fine. However, the food is not the same!

The shrimp appetizer was pretty good. And the salad was okay. The hot chicken had a weird flavor. I do not recommend it.

This restaurant earns the full 5 stars. It was packed, but we had prompt service. Hospitality was on point. Mixed drinks were great. The food was phenomenal. I had the NY strip and lobster special. The steak was cooked perfectly. The lobster was a little on the firm side. This has me guessing that maybe they do not dispatch and cook the lobster in house, but it was still really good. She had a salad which was shockingly good considering it's "just a salad". 5/5 would recommend.

I love the food at this place. Really good martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. The atmosphere is great. The prices are fair. This last time we went service was just OK. Had to ask for water multiple times among other small details mess such as all dishes served to the wrong people at the table. Nevertheless, a regular for me.

David & the Bar Crew are ALWAYS top notch entertaining & thorough in every aspect of service you could ever expect.

The menu is concise, expertly crafted, flawlessly executed, and quickly prepared.
Each entree has its own unique flavor profile; so no two appetizers or entrees taste the same. Portions are well designed and generous without being too obnoxious. The menu is seasoned to the edge, and the kitchen has never missed on any of my orders.

You just can’t build & execute a menu every day, every order better than this joint. You cant build a better restaurant.

I choose this spot frequently and never have to worry or regret my decisions.
