Stepping into Frangella Market made me wish I lived close by. It is a step back in time -take a number, give your order. The food is fresh and homemade. There are products from Italy- pastas, oils, vinegars, cheeses, wine and anything else you would need. There is a pastry section on the way to checkout with cannoli, homemade tiramisu, eclairs and sfogliatelle. Yes. There is a catering menu to order for larger quantities and a frozen section to take the taste of Italy home. There are chairs and tables outside which will be so great soon.

Pro tip: know what you want before you take that number. 😉

This is a great place to visit if you're biking the Cal Sag Bike Path. The Trib rates this as best place for Italian Beef in Chicago's SW suburbs, but it also has a very extensive supply of deli products. There is a nice patio with a solid fence to chain your bike to. Sorry, no bathrooms.

Getting here safely is a bit tricky. It's only 400 feet from the Cal Sag as the crow flies, but it's across two very busy roads. Yes there is a traffic signal but with all the turning cars and trucks I don't advise trying to cross at this intersection. But: there is a very safe way here from Lake Katherine. Take the trail along 76th Ave to, and diagonally SW through, "Memorial Park". At the far SW corner under the power lines take the right fork, which turns into 121st street, to 80th Ave. Take a right [north] on 80th. The road has a serviceable shoulder for biking. About 900 feet, under the RR tracks, gets you to Frangella's parking lot. Total biking distance from the Cal Sag in Lake Katherine is a mile.

I work nearby so I primarily go here for lunch. They have slices of pizza for lunch, which are great, but this place really shines with their sandwiches and their sort of premade dinners. My favorite sandwich is the true Italian and my favorite to go meal for dinner is the spicy Italian sausage. The staff is always friendly. The entire store smells like an Italian kitchen. I will continue to go here on a regular basis for lunch and for to go dinner.

I ordered a turkey sub and unlike l my local Italian deli in Tinley Park, they would not " shave " the turkey. So unfortunately the turkey was thick which made the sandwich sub par. Their crescent cookies were alright but there was no packaged or sell by date on them which was a bit sus tbh. The bread was not fresh either but it is a Sunday, and that is usually just how it is. Their other food items might be really good but I probably will just stick my local Italian deli.

Fresh Italian Deli with authentic Italian pastries. Hot foods are available. Frozen pastas are almost as good as homemade. Italian beef and gravy are delish. I'm never disappointed. Great Italian sub sandwiches. Ricotta cheese is the freshest. I recommend it for your Italian foods.

Stopped by Frangella for lunch and it was excellent!! I enjoyed the authentic market selection and the sandwiches are top notch. I had an eggplant parmesan and it was delicious. Perfect marinara and a good sized portion. Owner was very friendly and I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more sandwiches!

Been goin here for years! I mean years. Food is always delicious and love the deli and dry goods. We go here for a few item’s specifically. One the imported parmigiano! Very good prices and friendly staff. We drive 50 miles about 3-4 times a year to come here.

Frangella is a nice little Italian market. I picked up an Italian sub, which was decent, and a few grocery items. The cannolis were alright but a little on the bland side, and my wife said the apple and cherry squares are very good. The store itself is clean and the staff were very friendly. They have a spacious parking lot that's right next to the front door. Everything considered... it was a good experience. The Italian beef sandwich and the Tiramisu were excellent !!!
