Stopped in while traveling back to Houston to try out. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and patient as I was deciding. Solid burger, good portions, and the fries and onion rings are homemade and they taste wonderful.

Ps: Try out the jalapeño bun, it’s a nice touch with adding extra flavor to the burger and doesn’t pack much heat.

I placed a call-in order at Cattleman’s Kitchen and Cakes for nine steak finger basket meals—each with an extra steak finger—and an order of onion rings. (Total = $155.88) They told me it would be about 30 minutes, which was fine. I arrived 20 minutes later to pay, fully expecting to wait maybe another 15 minutes tops. Instead, I was told it would be an additional 25 minutes. In total, from the time I called until I finally left with my order, it ended up taking a full hour and 40 minutes.

Their time management is seriously off. Even worse, I noticed a table of seven inside who had ordered breakfast and were refusing parts of their meal because the kitchen took so long. They even tried to bring out a starter dish after the group had already been served their entrées, which were so delayed that the customers didn’t want them anymore, and requested to not be charged for the food.

After waiting close to an hour and a half, I saw my orders just sitting out, getting cold. When they finally handed me my bags, I asked for a partial refund since it was taking so long and the food clearly wasn’t going to be fresh. They flat-out refused. Sure enough, when I got the meals back to my guys, the food was not even warm.

Because of this experience, I don’t plan on returning to Cattleman’s Kitchen and Cakes. It’s a real shame, but I can’t justify giving them another chance after that.

I feel like Cattleman's is so overlooked in Winnie!! The food is always very good and staff is always professional. I've both eaten in the establishment and had them cater an event. They were amazing!!! They set up a grazing table for the event, and was VERY well priced. Thanks for everything!

Stopped here while traveling through Winnie. It's a small family owned restaurant. Less than 10 tables. Ordered a fried steak finger basket with onion rings. The fresh cut steak fingers are marinated in buttermilk over night then fried resulting in a perfect crust. The onion rings are also cut fresh and fried with a crispy crust. This place is really good.

Oh my what a wonderful place we stopped yesterday. The food and staff were excellent. Price vs portion was very good. The club sandwich was massive and very good and so was the bacon and egg cheeseburger.

Cute place. Don't bring a big crowd, but do bring a big appetite. Nice little hidden gem. Breakfast and lunch were very good. Huge portions and fresh cut French fries. I recommend. Had the BLT and the club. Friend had the omelete and it was huge.

This was a little hidden gem! We sought it out because of the wonderful reviews. It's small inside, but the food was SO good and the staff was SO friendly. They were busy cooking Thanksgiving meal orders, but they made us feel so welcome and took such good care of us. We can't wait to stop by Winnie the next time we're heading down to the coast!
