My husband and I tried to file a claim and they denied it because "we packed it all ourselves." Believe me, if I knew what they would do to my things I would have never chosen them. They claimed we needed more space in the truck for what we were quoted and demanded we pay a ton more. What they denied to tell us was they would still make it fit into the space they had quoted us the first time despite how much more money we had to spend. They crammed our stuff so bad many boxes looked as smashed as if someone took a baseball bat to them. Many treasures were utterly shattered. I cannot recommend this company to anyone who needs to move. They do it by using different semi trucks they contract with across the country therefore the truck that brings your stuff is one of many that are not related to the company, makes it hard to track them down...

DO NOT USE THEM. Seriously. Don't. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only was every piece of furniture damaged, some of it was lost, too. One of my kitchen chairs is missing, plastic drawers for my classroom with picture books disappeared, and a lamp from my living room is missing. I had to pay an extra packaging fee for the lamp because they said it had to be in a box, so they managed to mislabel that box and lost it. It's not like the plastic drawer set with my classroom materials is worth stealing either, they are just too lazy to actually check in the storage units to fix their mistakes... My TV was completely smashed in and had to be replaced, too. There are thousands of dollars worth of damages and replacements and they are impossible to reach and will not return calls. I don't understand how a company can be so careless and disorganized. They should be shut down, what they're doing can't be legal.
Moving was a nightmare because of this company. Don't make the same mistake I did.

This company has created the biggest nightmare for me. I hired a broker who found 1st choice to move me from AZ to FL. When they arrived they refused to weigh the truck, despite the quote being based on weight. They increased the amount I owed, leaving me with no option but to pay. I even paid an additional $300 for them to pack my hand crafted table to protect it, the table was completely damaged on the wooden base. I am missing 20 boxes and multiple pieces of furniture. The company is not calling me back, and has pretty much dismissed the fact that they messed up my move so bad. I cannot replace photos of dead realatives or scrapbooks that I made. I wish I never hired this company to move my stuff. As they unloaded the truck, furniture and boxes we falling off the cart, and the movers threw my stuff around with no regard to the contents. When I asked them to stop damaging my furniture and what they were going to do I was told very rudely to file a claim its insured. Yeah, $0.60 per pound, but you NEVER weighed the truck. I could go on for hours about the nightmare that this moving company has caused me. I will be bringing a lawsuit against them as well as the broker. I want both companies to be forced to find my missing items. I also have a box here that I missed belonged to someone else, (we caught others as they unloaded the truck), and they told me to leave it outside so someone could get it. There is no label, and no reference to who t belongs to. I refuse to leave it outside in the Florida rain. They've made NO attempt to find the owner. They never even asked what was in the box. This makes me believe I will never see my stuff again. I hate what this company did to my family!

This is by far and away the worst moving company I have ever used. It took one month to get my furniture from Denver to Seattle. I made multiple phone calls to the company to get an estimated arrival date. I think they must screen their calls because not once did anyone pick up the phone. I never received a phone call back either. I tried to email multiple times as well to no avail. When my things finally did arrive, the movers had lost the post and seat to my bike, broke an lamp and a decorative lantern. The men that actually moved the things in to my new place made the notes on the forms like they were supposed to. When I called and emailed about the insurance claim I again received no response. I have tried multiple times to get someone to talk to me, but it has been 9 months now and still nothing. Whatever you do DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE!!!!!!!!!!! You will regret the decision in the end.

BEWARE! This is the same company as 500 MOVE! They operate a couple of moving companies under same DOT number! They increased price by several thousand dollars the day of the move! When items arrived several days later, boxes had been torn open and rummaged through! A diamond cluster ring and gold wedding band were stolen and clasp broken off another jewelry box! Police report has been filed!

This was my first experience using a long distance moving company, and I have to say !st Choice would be my last CHOICE. The office staff were helpful but when the movers showed up, the quotes changed. They estimated the cost to move was more and refused to move my combo washer and dryer an additional $300.00 even if it was noted on paper and included in the cost of the move. I moved from Phoenix, AZ to Southern Illinois. They said my delivery would be about 2 weeks and when I called they said they were trying to find a driver to deliver to IL. They finally showed up 4 weeks later and the driver refused to deliver on my road. He said it was to curvy. He insisted that I pay another $300.00 in cash or he wouldn't deliver my things.I also had to sign the delivery contract. He told me I had to find a truck for him to reload and then bring to my new empty residence. I called the company and they said he had to find a way to deliver. This upset him and he was very hard to understand and kept using the "F" word. He was foreign and I couldn't understand him. I was actually scared of him and called my son to come from another town and stay with me while this took place. He got an open trailer from Carbondale which is 30 mins away and didn't even tell me he was leaving. He started bringing the loads and he and his helper just chucked things into my place. They had no regards for my things. They did 3 loads of delivery and took off and didn't say they were leaving for good. The next day as I was beginning to unpack, I realized that 2 of my 6 ft abstract paintings were missing, my 2 teak bookcases were missing, my teak cd bookcase, and my jewelry was all missing. So many items were damaged. My white sofa had coffee spilled on it, my metal garage can was dented, all my garden tools weren't delivered I filed a report with them and their insurance company. I was offered $104.00 of the $3,000.00 claim I filed. I was told they had a good reputation and really didn't need the additional insurance. The website had good reviews and the reason I choose them. I contacted a lawyer and he said I had to pretty much accept their contract terms. The lawyer didn't even charge me because he couldn't believe what thieves and how dishonest this company was.Do not use this company! I am not able to find the owners name and have filed my complaints through the Better Business Bureau in Phoenix, AZ.

Drivers are rude and disrespectful. Unprofessional handling of the delivery. They pack your stuff along with other moves and jumbles the items.

They broke my wooden bed head board and foot board. Head board clearly somebody trying to pull it with one hand with heavy item on top of it and broken line on my foot board.
My daughter bike Rim was shaped out, like something banged on it.
Nearly 10 cartons were broken, with items coming out.

They will come with 75 foot long truck and try to negotiate and demand for additional charge since the truck might have challenges to take on. You need to apply your driving knowledge to reason hard with them.
Careful driver might yell at you.

Driver think Western Union Cashier check might have been forged.

They will demand money before get your stuff into home. And they might insult you that you don't have money to pay them. Worst part, they know that they have broke some stuff. And you might not pay them rest of the money.

I spent around 2000$ on this move. I moved nearly 6 times so far, I never had this horrible experience.

He tries to engage with you for 3 days. He need to delivery whatever earliest time he can workaround on weather. You need to keep your priorities aside and available for your driver. Otherwise he might yell at you.

they might be 100$ - 200$ less. But not worth trying this company.

By the way you need to have bills for all items and very intrusive claim process you might give a try.

Moving my Mother from AZ to WI using this company was a nightmare. The salesman was very good even giving his cell phone to contact him. After the 2 weeks of storage and delivery he no longer answered the phone. Items were damaged and missing. The dressers which were secured with bubble wrap and tape were opened, rummaged through and stolen from. Filing a claim is extremely difficult and deductibles are high. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to move with a reputable company. We wish we had.
