True Food Kitchen in Oakbrook was a pleasant spot for lunch while out and about shopping, offering a menu filled with fresh and flavorful options suitable for all types of eaters. The atmosphere was inviting, and the variety on the menu made it easy to find something for everyone.

During our visit on 3/14, our waiter told us about their Pi Day special, where pizzas were just $3.14, which sounded like a fantastic deal. Intrigued, we decided to try their sourdough crust pizzas. The crust was crispy and well-executed, showcasing their attention to quality. However, what wasn’t mentioned was that the promotion was limited to just one pizza per table. Unfortunately, we only found this out when the bill arrived, after each of us had ordered our own pizza. Had we known this limitation upfront, we likely would have adjusted our order.

On the beverage side, the spritzers and matcha lattes were enjoyable, though a bit on the pricey side. Despite the confusion with the promotion, the overall meal was satisfying, and the food quality stood out. True Food Kitchen remains a solid choice for a fresh, health-conscious meal, but clearer communication about promotions would have made the experience even better.

I'm not sure if Alexa was having an off day or if she needs some coaching, but it was really an unpleasant experience.

She got my order wrong. For some reason there was Mayo on there or some type of white stuff that wasn't even noted on the menu. So since I didn't know what it was, I wasn't able to enjoy the top portion of the bun.

She was also supposed to put the onions on the side and there were no onions on the plate at all. when she brought some it was so little. It wasn't even enough to put on half of a sandwich.

She also didn't ask me if I wanted a kale salad or the simple salad so I went up and couldn't find her. So I mentioned it to another waitress who was so delightful that she made sure I got what I needed. I wish I would have gotten her name. She has straight blonde hair and she was very friendly.

Then finally we asked her for separate checks and when she came it was just one bill. It wasn't a huge deal for her to separate it, but it just seemed like she wasn't listening.

I was really looking forward to the burger and it just wasn't as good as I expected. Also in general I was expecting something a little bit bigger for 20 bucks

My friends thoroughly enjoyed her noodle dish + I'll definitely be back, but I probably wouldn't try something different and hope for a nicer waitress.

Good vegetarian and vegan options. Their fried chicken sandwich is great. Nice drinks and small but good collection of wines. I love their oat milk espresso. The staff is good but both the times we went the place was busy and staff was overwhelmed. Their pizza is okay not great.

I was solo so I sat at the bar but all was well. Service was great and the food was even better. I’m a bit of a food snob so finding a place to dine that didn’t leave me feeling heavy and unhealthy was important to me. I like the unique twist on Brussel sprouts and always a plus when your side is a salad instead of fries.

The dishes were good overall, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were missing that "wow" factor. Some dishes leaned a little too heavily on the salty side, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. However, it's worth noting that the ingredients were undeniably fresh, and it's evident that care is put into crafting each dish.

True Food Kitchen offers a pleasant dining experience with its inviting ambiance, delicious drinks, and fresh ingredients. While the food may not be groundbreaking, it's still a solid choice for those seeking a healthy and satisfying meal. With a few changes, this place could truly shine.

It’s a great place to go if you care about your heart healthy! So delicious and nutritious! We ordered the ancient grain bowl, pepperoni pizza and some freshly brewed tea and green smoothie. It all was wonderful!

I ordered through Doordash, their ancient grains bowl. However, I had to throw this super expensive bowl away because the food was not fresh. That avacado was black, and I'm not sure if it was mold, but I didn'tt touch it, it gross and I threw it away. Unfortunately, I could get a refund through Doordash because it didn't fall in a category that would refund your money. I just can't believe they would serve this to me. I spent over $100 on this order. I've eaten there before, and I've never had any issues with the food, but this is gross, and I can not believe they would send my food like this.
