Sushi Private Catering catered our wedding of exactly 100 people in June of 2024. Long story short, it was the defining choice for our wedding - it was what made it a standout guest experience. We have had dozens of friends and family tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve had in their lives.

Food: Delicious menu, everything was super fresh and well cooked. They made us (bride and groom) a special platter that was exquisitely beautiful and tasty. Honestly I wish I hadn’t worn such a fitted dress because I would have eaten twice as much. We had people come up to us afterward telling us they had gone back not just for seconds, but for thirds and even fourths! The salads, hot food, and other non-sushi dishes were very popular - my mom doesn’t like sushi and she said what she ate was one of the best meals she’s had in a long time.

Hygiene: Extremely clean and safe, used proper preservation, sanitation. All the work stations were kept very neat.

Service: The service was excellent. We hired them to essentially staff the entire wedding, and we were super happy with the staff’s efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism. We got back our full deposit from the venue as well so we know they tidied up very well too! They even threw in a free cake cutting which we very much appreciated!

Coordination: We worked with Jessica in SF to coordinate and plan the catering and bartending services. She was great to work with and gave us so many helpful menu and purchasing recommendations. Our wedding was pretty DIY so she helped bring together a lot of disparate elements to make it a full catering experience.

Bartending: I believe they contract this out through a third party. They did a great job on the specialty cocktails. A note on tips - we tipped them extra ahead of time and asked them to not put out a tip jar so guests wouldn’t feel pressured, and we later learned they put out a tip jar anyway. Not a big deal and didn’t really affect our experience, but if you’re booking bartending just be aware you may not really be able to opt out of a tip jar.

Aesthetics: Since many of us design the “look” of a wedding, I’ll just add that the food, plating, and even staff wardrobes all added to a beautiful evening!

Overall, my husband and I were very very pleased and highly recommend Sushi Private Catering for weddings and other sizable events!

Hosted a 15 person dinner at it was a huge success! Jessica and her team were great! We were nervous about hosting in an open floor plan but the chef and staff were so quiet and respectful. The menu selections were amazing as well! Will definitely be using their services again.

When researching various sushi catered for my husbands 40th, we stumbled upon this wonderful company. If you’re a quality sushi lover and are looking to host a memorable dinner, do NOT hesitate booking with the Sushi Private Cater SF. They will not disappoint!! Jessica, the main point of contact is very quick to respond which makes the whole process very smooth. She was very accommodating and honest when we were customizing our Omakase dinner. The quality of the fish was impeccable and the fact that you can rent the traditional plate setting and not have to worry about clean up was extremely helpful! Goodness, we are now searching for reasons why we need to hire them again! Josh, the sushi chef was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Upon arrival he confirmed the amount of guests and was flexible with timing as you know people can linger when it’s a party of 14. Everything was presented beautifully and was delicious! We’ll definitely book them again and are raving/referring to anyone who asks about our event. Thank you Jessica and Josh for making this such a memorable experience!

Awesome experience with these guys. We hired them for my 60th birthday at our house. They came on time, setup, and started serving on time. The sushi were great, and the display was very nice. Highly recommended.

Jessica and her team went above and beyond all the way. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. Presentation was superb- guests were very impressed with the table set up and the chefs on site. Jessica also worked closely with me to make sure we had just the right amount of food, all of our favorites were included and we were within the budget allotted. All in all, couldn’t be happier and will definitely be hiring them again!

Finally we were able to host a party with Jessica's help - everything was amazing: food, chef, services, footage of the event!

Originally I wanted to host a birthday party in early October, but had to cancel due to my international trip. When I was planning for a work event, Jessica was always super responsive and patient answering my questions, and updating the menu (no raw food, no gluten, vegetarian etc.) The party started from a guest list of 15ppl to almost 30ppl at last! Everyone enjoyed the experience!

For sure I'll try their Omakase dinner with fewer guests. Highly recommend!

I worked with Ben to accommodate a birthday party for my dad. He was very responsive and informative through the entire process, even helping customize our personal dinner menu. The service was amazing as well as the entire set up and clean up process.

The fish was extremely fresh and our guests loved it. A special thank you to our sushi chef, Josh! Josh was so friendly and interactive with our guests. I highly recommend!
