I've been skiing at Stowe since the late 90s and I just love this mountain. There is plenty to ski for every level. Stunning views. Like every mountain, conditions are weather dependent, so you either plan ahead or roll the dice. I rolled the dice and got lucky. The previous week saw about a foot of fresh snow, there was not a cloud in the sky and it was cold enough to keep the crowds away the whole morning. The grooming team did a great job of refreshing the mountain. There were plenty of powder stashes in the woods and the sides of trails. My husband no longer skis, so he set himself up in The Den at the Mansfield Lodge and said that the staff kept coming over to make sure he was comfortable or if he needed anything. The food prices are high, but with the epic pass discount, comparable to most resorts.
I really dislike how expensive the window prices of lift tickets have become. It's shameful. Skiing should be more inclusive. I bought a 4-pack epic pass the previous year, which came in a the top-end of what I'm willing to spend for a day of skiing and offers a good variety of destinations. If it weren't for that, Stowe would be off my list of places to ski.

The resort is divided into 2 main parts: Mansfield (for intermediates) and spruce peak (beginners). Spruce peak has a bunch of dining options, from small coffee shops to upscale restaurants. Mansfield side has cozy lodges to get warm in between your runs and The Cliff House Restaurant at the summit (needs reservations). You can take easy gondola to move between two mountains. If you have epic pass use the app to get the latest updates from the operations crew. Overall, loved skiing here this season and loved free parking on weekdays.

I had a great time with my family. It’s a nice resort, a bit icy, but that’s to be expected with east coast skiing. The staff were friendly and the runs were mostly well kept. I say mostly, because one run had a lot of rocks on it and the snow was so thin that you could see dirt, but that was because it was on the outskirts.

I've been coming to Stowe for almost 40 years so it will always hold a special spot in my heart. Nostalgia aside, I've also watched it transform over that time; some good like added restaurants, shops, markets, and revitalized lodging accommodations. And then there's the resort itself...

Easily one of my most favorite layouts and terrain in the East. However, what I've witnessed in recent years is a slow erosion of its once stellar reputation. The ticket prices? Absolutely insane. It's like Vail doesn't understand the concept of value for money.

They're still running only 4 lifts on Mt Mansfield (the main mountain), which lately will feature at least one lift being shut down, often the summit lift. They upgraded their mid-mountain lift to a six person high speed chair, but perhaps they should give more attention to the one that gets you all the way up the mountain. You no business charging $30 for parking when your main summit lift is down. It's unconscionable.

Spruce Peak (the smaller mountain, for those just starting out), where Vail has been seemingly dumping all their money, is not even worth it for anyone that is not a true beginner.

The gondola seems to be running slower than ever, and lines are pretty bad all around. Maybe they'd be better if all lifts were operational at the same time but they rarely are. I timed the wait in line and ride up to be about 35-45 minutes on each lift, for a 5-7 minute ride down. Not acceptable given the extortionate lift tickets prices.

Which brings me to the Epic pass itself. This will likely be the last year for me. It's simply not worth it for me anymore. Especially given the fact that there are many other options off network that are doing it better. It is very clear to me that Vail doesn't care about its customers. Soaring ticket prices, longer waits, terrible cafeteria food, decaying equipment, facilities, and infrastructure... Who is piloting this plane? It reeks of corporate greed and the holier-than-thou attitude needs a proverbial slap in the face wake up call.

Treat your loyal customers like dollar signs and we'll have no problem treating you like evil corporation that needs to be boycotted.

The snow and trails were pure magic—easily five stars. Skiiing through pristine runs was an unforgettable experience. But at $227 for a lift ticket plus parking, the cost puts a damper on the accessibility. Three stars for the price, because should the thrill of skiing really come at such a steep price?

Highest peak in VT still has a great skiing and riding experience. The groomers are top notch and it has a bigger mountain feel for an East Coast resort. If driving unless you have 4+ people in your vehicle make sure you park in the free lots and use the shuttle service. The parking rates are steep and the company that runs them is no good. Ever since Vail resorts took over prices have gone up, parking costs money and it seems more crowded. Overall still love Stowe.

Really nice mountain, views are amazing. Can be windy by time so you can expect some chairlift to be closed. A lot of runs for beginners/inter and nice terrain for powder hounds.

I skied here three days in a row. The mountain was second to none. The employees were all fantastic. We rented skis and the rental shop was also fantastic and the people that work there I would definitely come back here again. It’s probably the best ski area I’ve ever been to.
