Always fun to see John, never the same selection of items, always something new, always something interesting, always an impressive project hes working on down at his yard, and most of the time he welcomes my interruption of his busy day with a smile and clever view/saying/idea. John Foster's yard is THE go-to place for a project guy on a budget. A dry hydrant and fire pump project at my pond required a 3x6-foot steel frame, some expanded steel decking, and a cage of shaker screen about table-size. I knew what I needed, but not what I could get shopping a scrapyard. John showed me what might work, and I found it all. Repurposed steel by the pound!
When my well dried up this week, I went back for an affordable 275-gallon drinking water tote -- guaranteed sterile by the gin it had shipped and still off-gassed! While there I noticed some 10-foot expanded steel walkway that I will snatch up today for a creek crossing. I love this place.
