There's no doubt that they carry beautiful furniture, but it also comes at pretty steep prices. They do have sales, and pretty good ones, but even then their furniture won't be cheap. Excellent quality furniture, unquestionably.
When I'd saved up money to buy new living room couches and chairs, I found exactly what I wanted at Slaters. They were having a terrific sale that knocked down the price considerably. Even so, I could afford only 1 couch and 1 chair. That chair cost almost as much as the couch! Instead, I checked out Macy's furniture gallery. I ended up getting 2 couches and 2 chairs for slightly more than what I would have got at Slaters. The downside to Macy's was that I had to wait 6 months for it to be delivered! Slaters was selling the furniture they had on hand. If I'd bought theirs it could have been delivered the next day.
Slaters sales people are friendly, attentive and as helpful as one could wish. Patient and u judgemental as well. I couldn't have had a better shopping experience!

I've been working with Hannah after a nightmare experience with Hansen's furniture.
Hannah is knowledgeable, easy to talk to and even came to my house to help me measure my space. We placed an order for a coffee table set, it should be here in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!

We just bought a new home and naturally needed new furniture. We had been looking at other stores in the area and were "settling" for something that sort if met our needs. Local friends suggested we check out Slater's. (We're new to the area.) As we entered the show room, we saw the table of our dreams! Shara greeted us and helped us also find the perfect bedroom set as well as a few other items. Our furniture is solid, well made and classy. Shara is personable, knowledgeable and professional. Best customer service I have ever experienced. Slater's didn't just sell us a couch and some chairs, they helped us pick the perfect couch and chair set for our new home. They had a great selection of styles and colors, and Diana actually visited our house to help us measure and guide us through the process of choosing something that would look great in the room while also fitting with our taste and our lifestyle. There was no pressure to buy, and we were able to take some time to consider options before committing. We'll definitely be going back when we're ready to shop for other furnishings.

Slaters Home Merced has been wonderful to work with. The staff is very helpful and courteous, never pushy for a sell. The showroom is beautifully arranged and clean where in other stores in the area are not. The furniture is quality. I highly recommend, a rare find.

Any business that has served a small community for over 100 years, has not stayed in business for any other reason than they have always presented their customers as # one! In appreciation of transparency I will also state that their employees are top notch...
Including my Daughter!! However, also note that my parents purchased furniture from Slater's in the late 1950's when I was a kid.
