Okay my name is Elijah I used to work at shipex. Just out of boredom I decided to look at the reviews on this company long after I've left the company. To read these reviews you would think that should be is one of the worst companies to work at but this is far from the truth. Okay here's the deal yeah they paid $1,200 a month salary I agree it should be around $1,400 but it is consistent pay even when you go home you still get your salary. Also the the hotel that they use is top shelf I cannot stress this enough the company is first class all they do is rotate new trucks all year long you're never going to be in an old truck alder trailers are late model new trailers and there's really not much to complain about except their location. I had to learn how to deal with Wyoming because believe me you will be in it all year long so you're going to have to deal with the weather on routes i-80 and route 6 and there's a few other routes that I can't remember though the numbers but they're basically off of route 6. It's a reefer company and I can't think of anything bad you will not unload anything it's against the company policy to unload the trailer it's also against the company policy to drive when chains are required yes there are bags of chains on the truck but you won't be using them if you're going to work there. So they're pretty sane with the company policies.I can't see how anybody could complain much about the company except the bonuses I agree are virtually impossible to obtain and you have no control over how many miles you run because dispatch controls all that. So basically they should probably have longevity bonuses instead of based on Miles that's my personal view on it. I really don't have anything negative to say about the company. Oh yes I do okay here's a little tip. If you're going to move on and quit do not I repeat do not give them 2 weeks notice they will fire you as soon as you get to the terminal. They do that to protect themselves. So don't abandon the truck instead ask to go home and when you go home clean out the truck and then just wait until they write you back to salt lake if you do it that way then when you get to salt lake they will give you a plane ticket wherever you want to go they're really honest about that. However they do not trust you to tell them that you're going to be right at home to clean out the truck and then come back to salt lake because they've been burnt several times and had to go get abandoned equipment.I know it sounds hard but it's kind of fair if you really think about it and it's not all that complicated and I can tell you from working there for over 6 years that they will give you a plane ride back home or anywhere you want to go for that matter if you do things that way. They're not going to tell you that though. Anyway that one comment about Bosnia and all that that driver doesn't know what he's talking about they speak very good English I know more about trucks than you're ever going to learn. Don't think that because people are from another country that they're not smart they are very smart people. Anyway I wish I'd never laughed but they're paying needs to go up just a little bit. Stop being sad drivers if you go there know that you're always going to get paid whether you go home or whether you're on the road and you're always going to be driving new equipment and that is not an exaggeration sure there's inward facing cameras and I don't like that either. However when I was there they didn't hassle you. As long as you drive all the miles that you can and figure things out on your own you know they will always pay you and you'll always be a new equipment. By the way the owner is pretty cool too you came here with nothing and the man has built an empire that's the American way and you got to respect that. Peace

So I worked for these guys back in 2018 and I can honestly say it was a great experience. I went there with 1.5yrs of experience and they treated me with the same respect that more experienced drivers got which I appreciate. If you work for them (atleast from my experience) know you will run the i80 corridor pretty much from salt lake to Pennsylvania and back atleast that's what I did alot. They do have great equipment that's beyond the basic model which shows that they do invest in driver comfort. As for the salary, it was 1154/wk when I worked for them not sure what it is now and as long as you're a good communicator they will keep you moving. It is reefer so keep in mind some sitting is necessary but hey your getting paid for it so I see that as a plus. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would return if the need/opportunity arises.

One of your drivers named Randy who was in Kenly NC at a truck stop on the 26th of February decided to tip bait his driver $12 and immediately removed the tip from them. That hurts people who really work hard out here!

Been a driver here for over 3 years now, they've been great to me. In those 3 years I've been in 6 different trucks, 3 were brand new. The truck I'm in now I was taken to the Freightliner dealership to pick up. I have no major complaints about things here. The equipment is top notch and it's a salary based pay so no need to worry about miles every week. You do need to be a good problem solver and self reliant (meaning you should know you job and not depend on your DM to hold you hand). This isn't a job for everyone and it won't fit everyone's needs and wants. But it fits mine fine. I'm happy and I fully intend to stay with this company for several years before I find a local driving job in Florida where I live.

Been here for 3 weeks and everyone from the front office to company drivers have been great! My DM & DA are very friendly and do their very best to keep me moving and communicating with them isn't a issue. I absolutely love my new truck since it has awesome safety features, inverter, and a mini fridge...the things that makes their drivers HAPPY..

I like the salary base pay and the fact that you're given medical from Day 1 is very, very nice! I haven't been here long enough to see how the bonus pay works but I'm told that over 90% of company drivers do achieve it monthly which makes me optimistic about me getting mines.

Been told that this company primarily runs the I-80 corridor which at least for me, is the reason why I'm only giving this 3 stars...because for someone like me who not only lives in Arizona, but was used to running the Northwest, Southwest, and Midwest not having a variety of places or routes to travel is a bit mundane at best...

If I'm still around in 6 months I will update this review if necessary

I’ve been with shipex for almost 5 years. Overall I can’t complain. Everyone from maintenance to safety and dispatch have always taken care of my issues or concerns that I’ve had. Always great equipment. The pay is nice and consistent with it being salary.

Shipex is My Home, I am here to stay. I have been on board as a driver for nearly 6 yrs. My DM Jeff Guynom ( he has been my DM for 90% of the time that I have been here) Has played a Huge part in my success here. I make phenomenal money here, I get tons of miles, tons of time off, always driving a Brand New Truck. It's a Win, Win all the way around. I will retire from SHIPEX. I am more than a number here. Everyone in every single dept treats me like a Good Friend / Family.
