I love this location. They are inexpensive. They even give you a box truck to use for your move. They pay for the gas as well. The truck has amazing air conditioning. We moved my storage unit from one to another on one of the hottest days. I'm saving $40 a month for a bigger unit than I had.
Downside, no online, over the phone, or card payments.

I have been a customer for years at the Peotone Public Storage and would not recommend it to anyone. When I started out the old couple that I communicated with were very sweet and helpful. They were not the ones who continued to help with phones and the cleaning of the house. Someone else must have taken over because the place went downhill and became not a happy place anymore, There were times when I called and asked for information on something and didn't even get a response back. If you are going to be a manager you should keep the customers happy and run the whole business properly in order to succeed. This is called dedication or it’s never going to keep working.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The lady who handles most of the billing and phone calls is EXTREMELY disrespectful. The place took months to fix the coded door and could have been walked in by anybody. The place is dirty filled with bugs, broken lights, random junk all over the place. In need of major TLC. I would not recommend keeping any of your storage here.

My expirence with Peotone Storage over the last few years has been absolutely perfect. From the availability of use of the moving van to move in and the ability to change to a smaller unit. The office personal has always been helpful especially Kathy Young.

I rented a storage for my mother for one month. BEST Prices Around, they lend you a moving truck for 24 hours (no gas charge), wonderful family owned business. I would definitely rent here again if need be. I would give 10 🌟 if I could.

If you need storage, look no further. If you want to work with honest business people who have great integrity, you have found the right place. This is my personal testimony to the 5-Star excellence I experienced from Peotone Storage. I want to thank the owners for making my moving experience better, easier and less-painful. From the beginning they were helpful, when I needed to put my entire household into storage after a 1400 mile trip. But wait, there is more. Next they loaned me their moving truck to move my appliances, and it was free. Finally, when I emptied the unit I made sure to sweep it up and left it locked for safety purposes. I put the key in their drop box with the number on it, and left a recording stating I had vacated the unit. To my surprise, I quickly received my security deposit and pro-rated refund of rent. AWESOME! You will not find a better company to work with. AWESOME! Bill Towler.

UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Only getting a one star because I have to. If it was up to me I would rate this ZERO STARS! Called 3 times. 1st call, no answer. 2nd call, Kathy answered and was saying hello hello hello, hangs up. 3rd call, Kathy answers again and continues to say hello with immediate attitude. I asked if she can hear me and with attitude she asks what she can do and I asked TWICE if this was Peotone Storage and she refused to answer yes or no and gave me attitude. I told her I wanted to rent a damn storage unit and she laughed and said oh that’s nice and hangs up. Completely unprofessional! TERRIBLE SERVICE! Family recommended the storage facility and this happened. We will not be using this storage facility anymore. Way to go Kathy!

The prices seem cheap but Peotone is some distance outside of Chicago, I think it's not even the same county.

A friend brought me along so I could see the size of the storage units and they are very large. About the size of a very long single car I estimate about 24 feet depth by about 10 feet wide, because the storage building has a high pitched roof the highest point of the unit is about 12-14 feet high as opposed to the door height of a typical garage door of maybe 6 1/2 feet tall.

That's the good part the bad part is the units are not protected from much other than rain and in the case of my friend a leaking roof proved no guarantee against rain damage, and as we were to find that after months of unresponsiveness to the rain complaints there was a bad mold problem due to the fact these units have no environmental control of any kind and being located far from a city more subject extreme of dew and frosting which leads build up of moldy conditions.

So if I were to store machinery or something in a sealed container thisight not be much of an issue but in my friend's case storing clthi g and furniture along with numerous household items like a microwave, TV, and kitchen items he found got ruined by mold.

The manager was willing to work with him on allowing him to move his remaining items to a unit that didn't have a leak. But was quick to state if anyone demanded any compensation for damages due to mold he would get his lawyer involved. Sounds like the nice ild grampa like manager really is just a cover for someone that call play hardball if you push too hard.

Now in all fairness I never got the rental agreement I requested before I would consider renting. But two things kept me from going farther. One is the exposure of these units standing as buildings out in a rural area exposed the extremes of humidity, tornados, and lack of responsiveness by the management when a problem was clearly pointed out that led to damage and later minizing of the loss as something that just happens.

I think I'll pay bitore and find storage closer to Chicago that doesn't suffer those humidity extremes once you leave built up areas like the city and suburbs.

On the other hand if I had some industrial machinery its not a bad deal.

Go up
