Panda Express - Florence, Alabama

This is absolutely the worst Panda Express experience I have ever had. I travel around the country, and fell in love with Panda Express last year. I have never had less than a 4 star experience at any location until this one in Florence.

The customer service was lacking, and I had to repeat myself three to four times with various answers. But the food was the worst! The chow mein noodles had absolutely no cabbage in it, and most of the noodles were cold, with several noodles hardened as though having set out for hours to dry out. There were HARD clumps of rice in the fried rice. More than half of the orange chicken tasted hard and stale, and the same for the teriyaki chicken, with the addition of it looking and tasting undercooked.

What makes this experience even worse is that I came with my mom, wanting her to experience the great food, since she had never tried it, and she had the same reactions as I. So not only did it disappoint me, this location gave my mom a negative experience associated with this brand. And she paid for both our meals, so I felt obligated putvof guilt to repay her because the good was so bad!!

It is unfortunate, given how much I love Panda Express, that when I visit my mother, I will have no location to take her too for her to know how delicious it normally is supposed to be. I normally wipe my plate clean, but it was so bad, you can see by the picture attached how much I left uneaten when I felt disgusted and threw the rest away!

So far the worst customer service that I have had at Panda Express the employees were rude especially to a old lady that did a online order while I was just sitting there waiting for them refilling all of their items everything was completely empty or close to it I ended up waiting well over 20 minutes after I got my food it the chow mein was dry and cold the orange chicken was the only thing good freshly made and had freshly made sesame chicken but it was completely hot and hard on the outside but still frozen on the inside with a really off taste to it like it was expired chicken taste and about halfway through while I was eating I overheard the employees bad-mouthing the old lady on their headsets and instead of offering me a drink for my long wait the guy just took off employee discount on the receipt

I ordered a bowl of what is called beef and broccoli. What I received was a ton of rice & 3 stalks of broccoli so large you couldn't get your mouth around them with two small pieces of meat. When I ask for egg rolls she replied "I'm sorry we're out of all appetizers for the night." Who does that at 8 pm? The guy at the window was rude. Never again!

Ordered two plates with noodles and drove twenty minutes home to find cabbage salad with sparse noodles. This is unacceptable that the staff would even think of serving such lopsided mixture to a customer. This location continues to struggle with quality control and consistency at the most basic levels.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I placed an online order and the payment came out of my account. It said my order would be ready in about 30 minutes. On my lunch break, when I get there, the girl at the window says “Sorry we don’t see your order”. I showed proof of payment and she says “Sorry we can’t do anything with this because the order didn’t come through”. She refused to give me the food that I paid for and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I waited about 5 minutes for her to come back and say “Sorry my manager is on lunch”. They wouldn’t even bother to look into it for me. They said that I would have to call their point of sale system’s company to handle it. Don’t bother placing an online order unless you want your money stolen. This is theft and they should be ashamed. I will be following up with corporate on this because if a company is set up to take online orders and are allowed to collect money and not fulfill that order, that is considered theft. Absolutely disgusted with this experience.

So I placed an order the other day and I’ve never had any type of problem before. The girl at the window was very rude. She made an offhand comment that was quite unprofessional upon taking my order. Not only was she rude, but the order wasn’t even correct.

On Jan 27, 2024, at 1:53 PM, we went to Panda Express #2871, in Florence, Alabama, and bought a Family Meal. My husband paid $64.39, Order: 201172. We had fried rice, (he even bought additional fried rice), the Honey Walnut Shrimp was good, the Black Pepper Steak and Beijing Beef, the meat was good but the carrots were raw, and the broccoli stalk were tough, you have to cut the stuck, the 4 Spring Rolls were good. On the Black Pepper Steak, they filled up the box, but on the Beijing Beef it was not filled up. You can see the big difference when you open the boxes. My husband was not watching while they prepare our order, he just set on one of the chair. For so many years since they open in Florence, Alabama we always go there and buy Family Meal for take out. We stop going there I think by August or September of last year, I got tired of the food. But last Saturday I said I'n ready to eat Panda Express food again. So we went back there got our order and when we got home, we were not happy with the food. A lot of changes. We should have tried the fried rice before we order, but I was assuming the food was great, like it was used to. We won't be back there again.

Food was hot and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and we had no issues. Will definitely be back.
