I sent my mother to home hardware with a TV in her backseat that I was going to wall mount for my handicap niece. My mother recently had brain surgery and needs a hip replacement so I figured sending her to a small hometown business like this they would gladly come out to the car and assist her in finding the correct bolt size for the back of the tv. This was not a very large television just very difficult for my mother to carry with all her health problems. After I got off work and met her at her house and carried up the TV she was complaining of hurting and when I asked her why she told me this story. The reason I sent her to this business was for excellent service that you cannot get at a bigger store. That is exactly what she didn't get. I will never return to the store or purchase anything from it again. I'll save my money and get the same service (or possibly better) at Menards or Walmart next time. Its a sad day for small businesses 😔.

They have a good selection, staff is always helpful. We use this store a lot for only small things now. The reason why I am giving 2 stars is because when someone says they don't need help means you don't need you following them around. Makes you feel like a delinquent and it makes them seem like a dirty car sales men!

We visited town today for the holiday festivities and stopped at our favorite Hardware store. The kids got two Charizard Ex cards in their Pokemon packs. How cool! We love Home Hardware and Ottawa.

First time there and was very impressed with how big it is. Many selections on alot of products. The staff was super nice and helped me find what I needed. Edit: Wife went in and was not given the same treatment. She is the brains of every project we do and will send me on runs to get certain pieces or parts. She stopped in to get something she needed and was told it did not exist. After scouring the plumbing isle, she found it. The staff was rude to her and she felt they were very condescending.

So great place for men, not so much for women...

Home Hardware has an excellent female manager. Staff members are helpful. When cash register is beginning to be backed up..another lane is opened. They carry a large inventory of all products.

Great local place for hardware supplies. They have a helpful staff and most everything you need for home projects. They also offer screen and glass replacement for windows and doors as well as key cutting. Definitely saves a trip to a big box store.

I have mixed feelings about Home Hardware. They have a really good selection of tools & supplies, they even have good sales from time to time. If you need help though, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it. It seems like the ones who can help don't want to & the ones who can't just make their best guess. I shop here all the time but there are a couple of employees I try to steer clear of. Usually the main woman I try to avoid follows me around like I'm going to steal something so it's not easy to stay away from her. All said, I like this store. Mostly. If you need something specific, I would just recommend that you know ahead of time what you need before you go.
