Especially Tom was very helpful, took the time to show us every details of the department and amenities. I truly appreciate their willingness to answer our concerns and questions. My husband and I are having the hardest time trying to tour the property at 1530 N. Austin Blvd. After confirming we meet that rental requirements multiple times we still were never scheduled for a tour. I finally checked the reviews and I must admit I am so happy we did not rent from this company. Thank you to everyone that posted honest reviews and not the fake 5 star reviews.

Not a terrible experience, but not a great experience either. I leased with Oak Park Apartments for 3 years. I lived at 914 North Blvd. My rent went up quite a bit each year. At one point, it went up an additional $100/month. It was a decent first apartment for me. But in my opinion, not worth what I've seen it listed at now. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbor is doing. There's bad natural light in the living room. One closet. And you don't have full sized appliances in the kitchen (fridge and dishwasher).

Additionally, I found some of the staff at OPA to be very rude. My sister died in October of 2023 and I was not home for over a week during this time. I had a package stolen from the mail room in my absence. I sent an email to OPA about this and told them I had not been home to receive anything. I also told them why I had not been home. I was just hoping they'd email all tenants of my building about missing packages and encourage them to be returned. I'd seen them send these same emails before. They offered NO condolences to me whatsoever, and told me to file a police report. I was astounded at their lack of care and compassion towards me, and still am. They just want your money, they do not care about you. I moved 3 months later and couldn't be happier.

I regret to say that my experience with Oak Park Apartments has been less than satisfactory, primarily due to ongoing cleanliness issues and a lack of proper maintenance.

One of the recurring issues I encountered during my time at Oak Park Apartments was the neglect of cleanliness, particularly in the laundry area. On multiple occasions, there were instances of dog feces left unattended, creating a highly unpleasant and unsanitary environment. This negligence in maintaining basic hygiene standards was a significant concern for me and other tenants.

Furthermore, there seemed to be a lack of proactive monitoring and maintenance within the complex. I had to report issues such as air conditioning units that was ready to fall next to a car in their parking area. It was frustrating to have to bring these issues to management's attention when routine inspections and maintenance checks should ideally catch these problems before they inconvenience residents.

I must acknowledge that Oak Park Apartments was relatively prompt in responding to service requests when made. However, this responsiveness could not compensate for the persistently subpar cleanliness standards and maintenance concerns.

In summary, the recurring cleanliness issues, including the unaddressed dog waste incidents, along with the apparent lack of consistent monitoring and upkeep of the apartments, greatly affected my overall satisfaction with Oak Park Apartments. These issues not only posed a health risk but also led to my decision not to renew my lease. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend leasing an apartment with Oak Park Apartments, as these concerns undermine the overall quality of living in the community.

Let me show you the degree of negligence you will have to deal with if you choose to sign a lease here.

It's trash. Please see the picture I attached for yourself and look at how the entire building and area surrounding hadn't been plowed for days.
My car was stuck multiple times because they don't take care of the property at all. Then even after returning from work, they still hadn't plowed the property.
I couldn't even park in my payed parking spot for several days and when I asked for reimbursement, Tracy Leone and Jim Rolff had the audacity to tell me to drop off my parking badge and refused to address their negligence.

Update: (In response to the owner) The apartment isn’t in the clear, I went to visit the apartment yesterday, and there is rat poop on the couch, table and floor, again. They have even eaten through a bag of my dog’s food, that the cleaning people left in the middle of the floor, after they were done cleaning. Photos have been added from yesterday.

I am a current tenant at 309 N Austin Blvd. From the time I moved into my apartment, it has been infested with rats. I’ve been paying $1200, to rent an apartment, that I’m not even living in, due to me being afraid of the rats. I asked when touring the apartment, if there were any rotten problems; and was told no. The rats have now pooped all over my new furniture and all over the apartment. They have sent exterminators out 3 times, but the rat problems are getting worse. I finally called today to see if I can terminate my lease early, due to the apartment being unlivable and was told even if I terminate the lease early, I will still have to pay rent for the next 5 months; when the lease is up.

I had a great experience living at Oak Park Apartments for 2 years. For 2 separate maintenance issues, they were there by the next day and it was fixed. The building was always clean in common areas, and the other tenants were friendly and respectable. One thing I wasn’t fond of, was them raising laundry rates from $1.25 to $1.75 with no warning.
