We just had our wedding at Maxson’s & we absolutely loved how open and easy the staff was to work with! We had our ceremony out on the deck & our rehearsal in the banquet hall. Both areas were absolutely stunning! We had a Saturday wedding & we were able to go in as early as Thursday and set stuff up (since the hall wasn’t being used) which was a huge stress relief for me! They let us be creative in our own ways for decorations, desserts, food menu & bar! They served us family style and we had plenty of food to go around & it was all delicious with great prices! Staff was there to assist us in anyways we needed while we set up, cleaned up and just about anything we needed or wanted they were more than happy to help us. I 1000/10 recommend Maxson for your wedding or other small event! We had around 80 people and the banquet hall was perfect for that size! With plenty of extra room for dessert, card tables and dancing! For weddings the whole area outside Maxson’s has great places for the photographer’s to take pictures with different scenic views! We got photos on the boat, on the deck, nature views and even a pretty field out front. The banquet hall with the wooden walls, lots of mirrors is also absolutely gorgeous with great lighting that doubled as a room for us girls to get ready in! Definitely will be coming back to Maxson’s for events in the future & the dinner cruises make for a great anniversary dinner 😉

The fish fry “buffet” was a fish-less buffet. The shrimp/rice stirfry tasted burnt. The loaded potato wedges tasted like salt and flour. The seafood pasta was floury and had little or no seafood in it. The fried fish platter(that we didn’t order) eventually came from the kitchen after we were done eating our sides from the fishless buffet was WAY OVERcooked, hard, dark hockey pucks. Next appeared the baked(microwaved?) cod that we DID order was three little pieces for two people. Each time you wanted more fish, you had to wait another good 15 minutes for two more little pieces, one of which was cold. I saw and heard the cook snapping and yelling at our sweet waitress when she took it back. They weren’t at all busy, but after we’d been there for quite a while, a busboy brought us (and everyone there)obviously MICROWAVED rolls and said, here’s some more rolls for you… We hadn’t had any yet. I gathered that the rolls were a filler because then the waitress apologized for how slow the food was and how backed up the kitchen was. What?! Bizarre and disappointing experience.

I'm a real big fan of everything they're doing here. I dont know why they were empty on a Saturday night but they don't deserve to be. Excellent service. Solid menu with plenty of options. Some interesting finds like cheese curds with orange horseradish sauce. Lotta nice things going on here. Worth a try if it's been a while...

We had a group of six and we all loved it. It's a great way to just relax and enjoy yourself. The food was tasty and the owners were a joy to be around. $5 a beer was a little high, but other than that we have no complaints. Great for kids and adults. Thanks for having us and we'll definitely be back.
