My dad and I did two days of fishing here and had an amazing time! Bash and Casper were our crew members for both days. Our first day was a little slow but the crew was awesome, they worked really hard to make it a successful trip and we were out late trying to get everyone a salmon (everyone still got their limit of halibut that day). Second day was a little faster paced, we filled our halibut limit for everyone and each caught a salmon (and a couple people caught a rock fish or cod during halibut fishing too), so the crew allowed us to try a little bit for cod on our way back and holy buckets, we were slaying the cod! The crew also gave an amazing recommendation to take some of our fresh fish to the Hook and Cook next door to get our fish freshly friend and it was the best fish I ever had there!
I also really appreciated the crews help because I am 23 weeks pregnant, so sometimes I needed a little extra help. I found pressing the pole into my hip worked well for leverage when catching salmon and I kept it in the rod holder for halibut and cod.
It was also really incredible watching Casper fillet all our fish during the boat ride back! Maverick works with Homer Fish Processing if you need your fish processed and they meet you at the dock and will take your fish straight from the boat to have your fish processed for you. Great set up, I love that I didn’t have to figure out getting my fish to the next spot. Thanks for an amazing trip!

What an amazing experience! Both the outfitters and Captain Eric and his deck hand “Bash” were phenomenal. This was our first time doing a fishing charter and we were paired up with a great group of people and both Captain Eric and Bash were very helpful, patient and encouraging to my daughter. She (we) came away with a fabulous experience and would highly recommend them!

We had heard good things about Maverick and decided to book a June all day Halibut charter. There were 3 of us and another group of 3 for a total of 6 fisherman. We were paired with Captain Faith and her deckhand Simon. Both were super nice, had wonderful personalities, and worked hard all day long. We caught so many fish that I had to take a 10 minute break to let my arm rest. It was a perfect day with a great group and I would highly recommend Maverick Charters. Captain Faith will put you on the fish! Everyone on our boat caught their limit plus several cod.

Fantastic day fishing!

We booked the Halibut and King Salmon full day charter.
Captain Faith and First Mate Simon had us on fish right away and we had a blast. Both were qui k with advice and pro tips, kept our rods ready as we changed species and saw to every need.
Both were fun to just talk to and get to know as the day played out.

We caught our limits plus 8 cod and Homer Fish Processing met us at the harbor to process freeze, and package for shipping, airline flights or in our case to stuff in our RV freezers.

This charter knows what they are doing. Their setup makes fishing comfortable and fun, the boat has all the amenities needed for the trip. The customer service was superb top to bottom, from booking the trip and doing the trip. The captain/owner went the extra mile to get everyone on the boat their limit, including baiting hooks and untangling lines himself. The two mates were incredible, great work ethic and great personalities. They made an effort to get to know everyone and interact and meet every need. They work hard and have great attitudes while doing it. Can’t go wrong with Maverick.

Maverick does an outstanding job, period. The captain handled rough waters extremely well, keeping us on the fish both days we were out. Cheyenne and Sela were frankly amazing deckhands. They kept everyone's gear in order, got the fish taken care of, and were unfailingly pleasant no matter what. Sela especially is a NINJA--I thought I was good with a blade but after watching her, I was put in my place. Watch and prepare to feel inadequate:

We went out on 7/3/23 with Captain Eric and Bash. This was second time fishing with Maverick Charters and with Captain Eric for my husband and me but the first time for my dad. This was part of his birthday trip to Alaska and the part he was most excited to experience. We did the halibut and king salmon full day trip. Eric dropped us right on some large King Salmon to finish out or day. Eric is an excellent Captain and super quick and getting us in the right spot, untangling lines, netting fish, etc. Bash was super nice and is a great job at getting all of the lines ready, netting fish, and cleaning fish. Mandy was also super quick to respond and easy to work with to schedule the trip. I would go back a third time!

3/4 day of Halibut fishing!!! Captain Billy was wonderful, kept us out of the ten foot waves in the ocean, fished in the bay and everybody( 12 people) on board caught their 2 halibut limit in about 4 hours!! Highly recommend!!!
