My go to place for European freshly baked bread and croissants. Whole wheat bread and Levain are amazing. I go here twice a week. They have Verve coffee. There is a small indoor seating area and a bigger outdoor seating.

I really didn’t like the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit I got. The egg was a gelatinous slab and the “onion jam” made the whole thing slippery so the sandwich contents slid out. Give me a McDonald’s sausage biscuit egg any day over this mess and put the $10 saved in my pocket.

Some of the other items on display looked good, but it may take some time to get over the disappointment with my first visit.

Wow! My Santa Cruz sandwich was so delicious! And I complemented it with vegan (dairy-free) tomato soup!

1) Freshly-baked bread is fantastic, a perfect blend of greens including mint (love it!) but has dressing - if you’re sensitive to dressings and vinegars ask to make it without it or add little of it.

2) I loved the generous amount of greens and slight kick of jalapeños (they were not very in my sandwich, just added flavor) - ask to omit if you don’t like jalapeños. Otherwise it had hummus, cucumbers, and red onions.

3) Vegan chocolate banana bread looked good too. Because sandwich is so big and the amount of the soup too - I’ll have to come another time to try it!

Thank you Manresa Bread! It’d be wonderful if you could add another one or two vegan pastries without chocolate as well!

I really loved their bread. I tried their Monkey bread which is like a bread pudding with cinnamon and just melts in your mouth. Their butter croissant was nothing special. I had their drip coffee and it was crisp. They had some inside sitting but most of it is outside.

Excellent pastry and bread. One of the best if not the best croissants in 100 mile radius (I checked). Very good coffee. Friendly staff.

I admire business owners who think outside the box and come up with a fresh idea of introducing the consumer to new ideas in retail or food industry. However, when you come short of proving the very basic things one expects to see in a restaurant, that’s when I say the owner needs to think twice about their concept. For one, their breakfast menu is very limited as to options and the choice of bread which is surprising for a business who specializes in bakery. The second problem was not providing their customers any type of plate (either disposable or non disposable), so the customer has to use a napkin to eat their food. There were other things that this restaurant does not provide to their customers which were unexpected. The very reason for my contributions is not only to promote businesses but to provide constructive feedback in hopes of improving their business.

While nominally a bakery of interesting and healthy breads, this place is also a complete coffee shop with a great selection of lattes and breakfast pastries.

I tried their honey bun latte and an everything Danish. The latte was pretty good and the Danish was definitely interesting - an interesting contrast between the sweet cheese filling in the middle with the salty everything bagel crust.

There is a good Internet connection here and good outdoor seating with a patio. I wish the indoor seating was better, so that I could work a little inside comfortably while sipping a coffee rather than at a side wall bench.

There is even a wine bar here which looks like a tempting choice later in the day 🙂

The service was good and it fun watching them doing their job, making coffees and sandwiches.

The baked goods, I think, are always going to be pretty good: it's Manresa, after all. We ordered the avocado toast, and while we loved the greens on top, the avocado was just slices, with no blending, no onions or garlic, etc. Thus, it kind of fell flat and was fairly tasteless. They do serve in paper containers with compostable utensils (thank you). Servers are friendly and.... I told one of them specifically that this was a gift and ordered about $50 worth of pastries. The box they gave me was smeared with a brown sticky substance (probably sugar) but it was enough that I had to go back and ask for a re-boxing. Finally, there were flies on the pastries. It's easy to see why: they don't keep them behind a glass case or under mesh. It was enough that I noticed it but also my friend.
