Malaysian Kopitiam is an absolute hidden gem! My friends and I had the most amazing dining experience there. We started out with the A9. Roti Canai—let me tell you, it was so delicious that we devoured it before anyone could snap a picture! The roti was perfectly crispy yet fluffy, an absolute delight.

Then we moved on to the FN1 Char Kway Teow with chicken, which quickly became my personal favorite. The flavor was impeccable. Next up was the R4 Malaysian style fried rice, which was bursting with flavors and perfectly cooked.

But the real surprise of the night was the General Tso’s chicken. It’s not on the menu, so make sure to ask for it—it’s beyond amazing! The chicken was crispy, the sauce was just the right balance of sweet and savory, and it was definitely a hit at our table.

If you're not familiar with Malaysian cuisine, just give it a try—we were curious too, and it exceeded all our expectations! The staff at Malaysian Kopitiam were phenomenal. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality added to the overall wonderful dining experience. Give it a shot! You won’t regret it!!!

Just tried this place for the first time and it was really good! We got calamari, nyonya fish, and mee goreng. Everything tasted super good and came out really fast. We’re definitely going to be back to try more Malaysian food which regrettably I’ve not had much of before. The guy working there is super friendly and funny as well.

I'm So Happy that I finally found a nice Authentic Malaysian restaurant.

Food- Food was so delicious! We ordered Roti Canai with chicken curry, Fried rice which includes chicken, shrimp, perfect poached egg, tofu and various types of vegetables. We also ordered Chicken Flat Noodles and mango sticky rice. Please order Roti Canai because it was like food made in heaven. I can't wait to try their Beef Rendang next time!

Service- Service was very nice. Our server, Marcus was professional, polite, comedian, helpful & very communicative. We couldn't stop talking to him.

Atmosphere- A nice, quiet, clean and well organized restaurant. You can bring your family, friends or date here.

I would Highly Recommend this place!

A good place to have some Malaysian food in Centreville, Virginia. The service was good and the food was great. No regrets on either point.

Of course like any other Malaysian restaurant, we had to order Roti Canai from the appetizer menu and it was amazing. My son just loved the hot, fresh, flaky roti that he asked to order more. We also ordered Chicken Satay which was nice, juicy and flavorful.

For the main course, we ordered Malaysian style fried rice which is a combination of chicken, shrimp and tofu as well and comes with pan fried egg on top. Definitely worth it. We also ordered Beef Rendang and Nyonya curry fish fillet. Fish was good but the curry was a little on the saltier and sour side. Believe it might have been tamarind or something similar to give that sour taste. Beef Rendang definitely was on the top with Roti Canai. Tender pieces of beef in a spicy curry. A must try.

The prices were reasonable not extravagant like we see nowadays and the quantity was good for the price.

Anyone looking for a Malaysian restaurant which is not too fancy, not expensive but has good service and good food, check this one out.

Authentic Malaysian Gem!

I’ve been coming to Kopitiam for over 3 years, and it never disappoints. The flavors are bold, authentic, and consistently delicious—especially the Roti Canai. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it even better. Easily one of the best Malaysian spots around!

Been craving for Malaysian beef rendang, so we ordered roti canai, and Hainanese chicken, vegetarian curry laksa noodle soup.. and beef chow fan. I know I know the last one isn’t Malaysian. But the restaurant have some Chinese flavors too 🙂 over all it’s a great restaurant, the service from the young guy was easy going and fun. If I am around the area o would go again as, there isn’t many Malaysian restaurants in DMV area.. coming from NYC, we got Papa Rich and few other old Malaysian stables in Flushing, Queens. Or the Malaysian restaurants in Chinatown…. Or Penangs in major cities. The over all taste is pretty decent compare to most of the Malaysian restaurants in NY or Boston. Beef Rendang was 7/10 and it hit the spot, since I haven’t had it for a long while. Over all it was a great dinner.

Tried it based on reviews and was very disappointed. I left the restaurant hungry since it was about the size of a kids value meal. Will not be back. Also, place had a really odd funky smell. I guess they don’t use fan ventilation to save few bucks. Rather be eating a bowl of pho any day.
