Throughout the home purchase process, Altun was very professional and responsive to all our questions. To give more color to our experience, we found Altun through a referral from our loan officer (also excellent) but also interviewed him thoroughly before working with him. From day one, you could sense that he was there to fight for you, that he sees the home purchase as the first step of a relationship rather than a transaction. In our first meeting with him, he came dressed in a three piece suit and was both professional yet warm. Our kids, who came along to look at the houses, loved him. You could see from the way he interacted with the selling agents, and his efficient and frank analysis of the merits and drawbacks of the houses, that he is experienced and knows the real estate business. When it came to putting in an offer, he kept in touch with the selling agent and their expectations and made sure we did not miss the offer deadline, without being too pushy. We learned a lot from him about how the Bay Area housing market was different from what we read online about purchasing houses in general, and how to put in an offer that would stand out.

During the house search process, we were also trying to understand the effort of remodeling or fixing up an older home. He gave us frank advice of which homes to avoid and why. To help us better understand what is involved, he also introduced us to the contractor his brokerage works with, and gave a thorough explanation of what a current house they were remodeling involves (including their remodeling decisions and why). Throughout all this, we could see that he was vested in making us successful, taking the extra effort to educate us so we could make informed decisions beyond just the initial home purchase. His mindset is to treat all his clients like family and friends, people that he would help whenever possible.

We were fortunate enough to purchase our home within 2 months of working with Altun. While there is no guarantee that all buyers are that lucky in the Bay Area, our good fortune was in no small part due to Altun's professional guidance and focus on getting us a home.
