Edit/ additionally: From my experience the staff either can’t or deliberately won’t communicate such policies as clear as they should. Won’t even give me the time of day to check my recent purchase, rod essentially unused, with just the plastic wrap peeled off.. they could have at least looked at it. Very inconsiderate to not even try and correct such a miscommunication / misunderstanding. For new anglers, strongly suggesting that you’re better off at any place with common courtesy and minimal respect, to help with the learning curve and to form a love for trout fishing, rather than contribute to what felt like a greedy money grab. Look for the shops that prioritize teaching and success on the water over their own financial gain; this is not one of those places.

Don’t know how to do business here, should avoid. Not supportive or helpful when it comes to finding solutions or offering information for customers. Was sold a rod on the promise I could bring it back if it didn’t work out, and was totally left hung out to try. After less than a day and less than 3 casts, I was told I could be given less than a third of what I paid for it. If you are learning to fish or traveling to Bishop for the fishing here, DO NOT COME HERE.

Most all of the guys are awesome... except Nick, he was a total and complete jersey. Ron was spending time with us and getting a huge sale and Nick yelled at him for spending time giving supplies and advice for local fishing and camping. I've known and shopped there longer than Nick's been alive...he should learn some respect and appreciation for our kind of customers... we drove all the way from Vegas and Nick treated us like a total jerk!!!

The guys working there are extremely helpful. With tips from one of them, I went out and caught a bunch of great size trout! He spent extra time with me to make sure I got the information correct. Extremely helpful. I wish I knew his name, but it’s the older gentleman who likes to bass fish

Nick is super helpful and knows about fishing in the area. He' will set you up with the right gear, as a total novice, I learned alot and trusted him completely. Great sporting goods store. So glad I walked in.
