This kid-friendly gem of King & Queen county is county run & funded. The dedicated & caring staff are eager to meet any challenges of being our small town library. Perusing the available titles on their shelves made me decide to carve out more time to read in 2025. Maybe even join the weekly book club and/or quilting club that meet there. Plenty of online book possibilities as well via websites they partner with. All you have to do is ask!

Hello,
I'm an old retired veteran, and I grew up in a day where the library was an oasis of, if not complete quiet, at least subdued conversation. Sadly, here at the King and Queen Branch, that is not always the norm.
I've been frequenting this branch for the better part of fifteen years. Heck, I remember the library being a trailer.
The staff is always helpful and professional. My arrival receives a bevy of welcoming faces and a "how can I help" service attitude. Although the service desk is two rooms distant from the adult computer room, it is a mecca of mayhem at sometimes of the day. When visitors to the library gather that space is loud. Happily LOUD!
The problem is the design of the building.
There is no sound barrier between rooms. Yes, there are doors, but they are kept open, and, for safety reasons, that may be a requirement.
There are several fixes, and some may deplete funds from another more critical cost item. Here are two to consider that are zero impact on the budget: 1. Staff retraining. Training the staff to set an example for others by talking in a normal tone of voice. 2. Unless it's a safety consideration closing the doors between spaces. Likely a minimal cost: 3. Putting another door between the service desk and the Xerox/magazine room.
Again, I sincerely enjoy using this super library and I may have just had a bad day. Thank you!
Thank you in advance for any consideration possible.

I have been a patron of this branch for years but the disposal of books from this branch is truly appalling. They are very good about ordering books for me but there is very little selection at the library and there is plenty of room for books. I was looking in the non-fiction section and there were only two sides of books in adult nonfiction and nothing on the subjects I was looking for.. I think this is a great disservice to the citizens of this county and does nothing to help promote literacy which in my opinion is a duty of a library system

I visit the library 2-3 times a month and have always felt welcomed, while being greeted with a smile, a "how are you today" and an offer to help in any way. A great community spirit! Thank YOU!!!
