I ordered chicken/veggie dumplings. For a first timer eating dumplings, I think it tasted pretty good. Please take this with a grain is salt for you dumpling “connoisseurs”.

Our go to place in oak park for authentic northern style Chinese food. The neighborhood around the restaurant is super cute- so make sure you plan a nice day to explore the area! Our favorites were the hot and sour soup and xiaolongbao. The scallion pancakes were freshly made with a solid crunch.

Stills one of my favorite places, but they need to make sure to invest in employees who actually care about customers. Our experiences have been sub par, and I never write negative reviews. I suggest new employees.

I will update the review if service improves on our next visit.

Things I am looking for:

1. Acknowledging a customer after they’ve been seated for 15 minutes and have been trying to waive you down

2. Basic Customer service at a sit down restaurant in which you expect tip

If you’re in oak park I would definitely check out this place. We ordered the orange chicken (which came with white rice), fried chicken rice, and fried beef dumplings. I wasn’t fan of the fried dumplings because their regular dumplings are so much better. However, the flavor of the beef was delicious. Did I mention this place is byob? And they don’t charge a cork fee.

Gonna be quick😅

Cons:
- From jump, the staff did not acknowledge our presence when we first stood/waited by the front desk (and there were about 5 staff members right there).
- For a place named Katy’s Dumplings… we were disappointed as the dumplings were underseasoned, the dipping sauce was salty and tasted of pure soy sauce.
- The Thai Iced Tea was alright (not quite sweet enough for me).

Pros:
- Food came to the table quickly!
- The entrees (General Tsos & Sesame Beef) were okay.
- The white rice was cooked perfectly!

A new Chinese restaurant to enjoy and I definitely enjoyed. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to try something slightly different and definitely tasty!! I plan to go back there sometime soon

The last three times I ordered there it has been terrible! I usually order the pork steamed buns and they have been too hard at the top and falling apart from the bottom. The dipping sauce has a weird chemical taste to it lately. I always order it to go maybe it’s better while dining in. The cashiers are always cool though!

Delicious! We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup (they even split into 2 bowls for us!). We like spicy food and this certainly delivered. We also ordered a variety of dumplings based on India's recommendations and we were glad we did, they were all great choices. Food came quickly, service was great, we will be back.

Atmosphere is really good for its price pint.
Food is a little disappointing, about average.
Only the juicy small steamed buns, and the eggplants that I enjoyed.
Price is reasonable.
