So, long story short. I convinced my friend to leave his car at PS Tramway & we would hike across the mountain into Idyllwild, wherein we would simply catch an UBER back down into Palm Springs, retrieve the vehicle from the Tram's parking lot before they closed at 9:30. Easy, right? Wrong. There are no Uber drivers in the Idyllwild area, let alone taxis, but wait! I found one! Douglas from New York to the rescue. After we hobbled off the trail, we went into Gastronome restaurant (5 stars for their service and hospitality, knowing we were somewhat stranded and they let me charge my phone while we waited) and that's when I found Idytaxi via "the Google". We had to wait a good while because he was just dropping off a client in Indio and had to drive BACK up the mountain to get us, so that was a lot of driving for him. I am always nervous being a passenger on mountain roads and he sensed that and kept jokes cracking to take my mind off of things (so I'd like to think) like the foggy, windy and rainy conditions. Yikes! Needless to say, he got us safely back to our vehicle in time before the lot closed. I would recommend Idytaxi but, whatever you do, don't ask rhetorical questions (that's for you, Douglas 🙂

Poor communication, Douglas creeped me out. He asked me if I was single and kept asking to see my picture. He harassed me and kept calling me back to back and threatened to call the police on me then took a blow at my living situation. If I could give no stars I would. Be careful if you're a woman alone getting a ride from this man

Douglas was a life saver for my partner and I, about a month ago my bf and I decided to be spontaneous and take an Uber up to idyllwild. To our surprise, there’s no Uber back down. A worker from Idyllwild Inn found idytaxi for us, we were skeptical at first but Douglas is legit, he is kind, and gives good service. Will be contacting again

Douglas was a lifesaver! My fiancé had an allergic reaction because of a dog at the place we were staying and he drove us at midnight all the way down the hill when nobody else was available. He was hilarious and it was almost like he was a friend as it wasn’t awkward and conversation flowed smoothly. He even offered to buy us stuff at the gas station. I highly recommend using this service and I especially recommend Douglas!

Douglas is awesome. We were in a total bind, far away from our hotel and without our car keys. I realized I didn’t have them after all businesses were closed and NO hotels had vacancy!
He was super helpful and brought us down to the desert even thou it was late and he had to postpone other unrelated work. Very friendly, we felt we were in very good hands!
