I have been using Groome for years now and have never encountered an issue and hopefully never will. Super professional staff and have always been able to accommodate me in every way. My most recent trip with them was in March and Samantha Elkins was my driver to and coincidentally from my destination. She was super kind and respectful. Took me way longer than it should have to leave this company a review, but thank you for providing such a convenient service to us! This service is like inspector Gadget- “always on duty!” Seriously though, what a deal. Direct pick up and they drive you straight to your terminal to Atlanta.
Instead of driving yourself with all the used up gas, spending all that money on parking your car for days at the airport, or having to buy an extra ticket just to get from Bham to Atlanta… why not use these guys to do all that for you? This is the MUCH more logical option.
Not only is it financially responsible, but it’s always gone so easily. They’re always on time and always friendly. It’s easy to reserve a spot AND if your flight does come in way earlier than expected, and a shuttle is already there waiting for other passengers, they may even be able to take you home earlier.

An all around win for birmingham travelers. Why fly to Atlanta first… when you can be driven there for way less

I'm a parent of a student at the University of Alabama and this is a review of the Groome Transportation office that provides service to the University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa. This relates to our experience in December 2023.

This was just a terrible experience. Their bus left the pick-up location early, stranding a couple of students without even trying to reach them. While the bus was still servicing other stops ON CAMPUS, they knew the students were waiting for them and they still left them behind.

We were lucky because our son was able to catch an Uber and made his flight.

Over the course of several days, I made 3 attempts to reach the general manager, Jacob, by phone. His staff always said "he'll call you at the end of the day" or "he's in a meeting and will call you back." He never did.

I finally reached him by email. He disputed the fact that the bus left early, but nothing else. He should have reimbursed us for the cost of Uber, but refused to.

If you choose to travel with Groome, be sure you're extra early. And if things go sideways, know that you'll never be able to discuss the problem with anyone in a decision-making capacity by phone. To me, avoidance is an admission of guilt and at the very least tells me they have no interest in trying to productively understand or resolve a problem.

You've been warned.

Great service. Marshall that answered the phone was excellent. His customer service skills are great.
The bus drivers to and from the Birmingham and Atlanta Airport was great. Their driving skills were great.
Both shuttles were early and we left on time. My first time to use (5 of us) and will definitely use again.
