This is such a great hospital. We are new to this area, and everyone we talked to was so warm and polite. They made our visit very comfortable. The hospital is quite clean and well managed. Doctors and nurses are professional and we felt extremely supported and safe.

I visited Grace Cottage Hospital’s ER after a ski injury and could barely walk. The physician conducted a very brief evaluation, appeared dismissive, and discharged me without even crutches. I later saw a doctor at home who confirmed I had a torn ligament and expressed surprise at the lack of care I received.
When I contacted the billing department to discuss the situation, they informed me that financial assistance is only available to Vermont residents and declined to offer any flexibility.
It’s disappointing and feels like out-of-state visitors—who have few nearby options—are being taken advantage of. If you’re injured while visiting the area, I strongly recommend waiting to seek care in your home state, where you’re more likely to receive appropriate treatment and fairer billing.

I was admitted to Grace cottage Hospital recently. I can’t say enough, good words how welcoming, warming, and professional the staff was there . The care I was given was amazing. The ER was very swift and on top of what was going on with me. I would definitely go back there no questions ask. Thank you, Grace College Hospital, and staff for the well care that you gave me I would definitely rate your facility and staff a 10 and once again, thank you so much for all the loving care you gave me and got me back on my feet and well again.

Was very happy to learn of this hospital when I had a case of Strep go bad while staying in Townshend. All the staff from Registration, Radiology, Nursing and Physician Assistant were so knowledgeable and kind. Stellar experience all things considered. Thanks to the crew that helped me out today. My 19 year old daughter was in a accident leaving her with a broken hip, pelvic and femur. Everyone at Grace Cottage was and still is amazing 3 months later. They treat her and myself like family and we couldn't be more thankful for them all. During our toughest days they are what kept me strong as a mother. She is currently doing out-patient therapy at this little gem hidden in the woods of Vermont. We are forever thankful for Grace Cottage and their wonderful staff ♥️

Where do I even begin to describe what an amazing experience I had at Grace Cottage Hospital?

From the moment I walked in the ER door, I felt at ease, even though I was quite anxious. Once I filled out paperwork, I was immediately brought into the emergency area, where I met the nurses, and soon after that the P.A. on call that evening, all of whom were referred to on a first-name basis (who does that in a hospital emergency room?). Let me just say it was a bit surreal – but in the best way possible - that I immediately felt at home, and at ease, even though I was going through an episode.

I still get choked up thinking about the amazing, caring experience I had there. When I left, I literally gave hugs to the two nurses and P.A. that tended to me (Molly, Chris and Josh - you all freakin' rock, man), and I felt like I had made friends for life in a little over 3 hours (and next time I'm up your way I'm gonna take you all out to dinner to show my gratitude!)

After getting through all of this, it gives me hope that there are still good, kind, caring people out there in this world, and that healthcare *can* be a good experience when people love their jobs and where they work.

Please keep on doing what you do at Grace Cottage Hospital, because in my opinion, you are absolutely second to none.

This is the very best emergency room in the nation. The practitioners are kind, thoughtful, and go above and beyond. The head receptionist was lovely. Britney, Justin, and Ryan were all incredible. Thank you!

Great staff and care for a laceration that I needed stitched up very early in the morning. We were at Stratton and thinking we had to drive to Brattleboro because of the time of day but then realized Grace Cottage’s ER dept was open and much closer. Brittany and the team provided excellent care. I would recommend this hospital to others.
