Why we LOVE the customer service at Goldstream Sports! ‍♀️

This is the out of the box repair they managed to fashion for us, to keep the orange bike on the trail.
The black bike has a "normal" (for its model) dual-sided chain-guard... it keeps the chain in place.
The orange bike had the outside half of the guard torn off. The bike still worked, but the chain easily came off without warning because of the missing guard. It's not a piece that can be easily replaced because it's not separate from the crank... you need a whole new crank... which are currently out of stock and on back order everywhere in the country. ?
The young man who was working alone that morning, took a look... did some checking on parts availability... gave us the bad news that it woul probably be weeks before a part became available... then said "give me an hour... I have an idea that might work until a part becomes available..."
One hour later we stopped back in and he had fashioned this temporary fix using a piece of plastic, an angle grinder, and some zip ties and elbow grease!!!!?
It's working perfectly. Big ups to Goldstream Sports! No one else would have been this creative, effective, and fast. We went from out-of-action, possibly for weeks/months.... to back on the SingleTrack and riding trails in an hour due to their skill and ingenuity.
They're the BEST!

Goldstream is a great shop. The staff are really friendly and have plenty of recommendations for local riding options. They went well out of their way to set me up with a rental bike on a last minute walk-in - thanks to Jordan for that.

The store has a good looking selection of kit including shop-branded jerseys and bibs. You can ride 10-15 miles of singletrack right out the front door of the shop.

Goldstream Sports staff know what they are talking about because they live it! These are hardcore outdoor enthusiasts and equipment testers - they will answer your questions and make repairs honestly, without upselling. They've got a great selection of tools and gear, and they're fast, really fast - and just awesome every time.

Professional + personable. Friendly staff, quick service that’s super thorough w/ explanations and options. Feels like a family and customers are welcomed as part of it — even if just passing through the area for a short while. I hope I can find a go-to bike shop this special in my own neighborhood! In the meantime my 2 new Goldstream water bottles will declare my long-distance loyalty here on the East Coast 🙂

Even though I purchased my bike a dozen years ago, and I am far from a frequent customer, I received excellent service and pricing. I brought my bike in for some minor repairs and a tuneup, and they fixed everything in a day at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed with the service when I first bought my Gary Fisher here, and my opinion was reinforced this week. Thanks for being awesome!
