After my cousin was tragically killed in March 2024, our family held a memorial in his honor. Ronnie at Golds Bakery generously donated a beautiful selection of cookies and macaroons for the gathering.
The baked goods were not only excellent — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — this gesture meant a lot to our family during a really tough time. It was a thoughtful contribution that helped bring a bit of comfort to everyone there.
It meant more than words can express to see a local business support a grieving family in such a generous and thoughtful way.
We truly appreciate the support from Golds Bakery and won’t forget their kindness. ❤️

An absolute gem! Gold’s Bakery is a local, family owned bakery in the quaint town of Ione offering the freshest and most delicious sourdough bread north of San Francisco, yummy cinnamon rolls, pretzels and more. They sell out fast so get there early or order in advance.

Ordered apple mini pies for my co workers birthday celebration and everyone raved about them being the best pies they ever had! This bakery is wonderful and easy to communicate with. Great experience! It smelled so great in there I picked up some bread for home.

Oh man, fantastic sourdough and dip. Had some Trader Joe’s cheese in the fridge that went fantastic together. It’s a light sourdough which makes it perfect for those who don’t appreciate fine taste lol. I totally missed out on the other baked goods so stay tuned, there will be tons of updates. I heard the cinnamon buns are to die for. This place is a must, so don’t miss out.

I have family that lives in Ione and this past weekend they came to visit us in Santa Barbara. They brought along a few loaves of the sourdough and two trays of cinnamon rolls - both were so delicious! The bread has great flavor and texture and the scoring is so pretty! We wish we lived much closer to Gold's Bakery so we could enjoy the sourdough bread on a weekly - make that daily - basis! If you live in the area or vacationing in gold country / sierra foothills - don't miss out on these yummy baked goods!

The greatest new addition to our small town. My wife and I are regulars and can't get enough of Gold's sourdough. A couple of our favorites are the seeded sourdough and roasted garlic. Both are great for your classic hipster avocado toast in the morning before work.

The cinnamon rolls are unmatched. Not too sweet, and just a little taste of coffee makes them our favorite Sunday morning breakfast appetizer.

Cookies are better than grandma's so... don't forget to grab a dozen or so or those, too. Not too chewy, and just a pinch of salt on top.

Lastly, the owner goes above and beyond and offers delivery to locals in town and if you're lucky, you'll be greeted by one of her smiley kids with a little chocolate on their face.

Support this small town, family run business for all of those reasons, and so many more. You will be glad you did!
