If you are in the military doing a HHG move and they get assigned as your agent. Call transportation and get it changed. Did not want to perform services that they are under contract to do. They dropped everything off into the rooms they belonged in. Found the high value items and wanted to leave. They refused to do anything until I pulled up the joint regulation covering what they are required to do. Again do not let this company pack or deliver your shipment, your in for a very long and unprofessional day. This is my 5th PCS and it has been the worst out of all my moves to date.

Immediately when they arrived to unpack our HHG things seemed great. However, that changed as the night was ending. They were until 10:30pm (which according to the inspector they’re not allowed on base after 9pm, so they should have came back the next day). We get in bed and notice the bed was terribly put together. Come to find out all screws were completely stripped because it was put together with a drill. Check our kids beds and one of their beds was the same. They also left a piece off of her bed because they didn’t know where it went… I was pleased that the company came out with new screws to redo our beds, but AGAIN, our daughters bed was messed up. The piece left off never got put on, there’s screws still sitting on her desk which had a place, her bed was put together incorrectly because predrilled holes are facing outward, and there are tips of screws (9 to be exact) sticking out under the loft bed where my kids play. Absolutely lazy to not take apart that bed and do it correctly, then leave and not say they couldn’t do it.
We also have multiple items that were taken apart at our old house that the movers here didn’t bother putting together which by their contract they were supposed to. I highly recommend doing research on this company and be cautious if these are your movers.

My husband and I are so impressed with our movers today! They got the job done efficiently and were very respectful of our items and made sure everything was packed in the right way and moved in the right way too. Jason, Norm, and Jeff were great and very professional! So happy we went with this company!

Golden North Van Lines in Fairbanks was amazing. We have done many long distance moves as a family and the crew that moved us into our house (and up a HUGE flight of stairs) was the most professional, friendly, and efficient crew we have ever had move our things. I cannot say enough good things about their service. Top notch!

They answered all of my questions, work diligently to help me with my shipping issues. I could not be more thankful to work with such a great company. Liz, behind the desk, was always very respectful and understanding (even though I called more times than needed), Travis and Jim are my absolutely heroes. I would highly recommend!

We moved with GNVL last year and worked with Danny. Danny was the epitome of excellent customer service. The required in-person pre-move inspection was an inconvenience, but Danny made it worthwhile. This year, we decided to give GNVL our return business, but discovered that Danny is no longer with the company. Not only that, but the pre-move inspections are being conducted remotely by someone down in Anchorage. In fact, the only people who can get ahold of on the phone or email are down in Anchorage. This is not a local operation at all and it seems to me that they plan to run everything from down there and hire random people they've never personally worked with rather than promote someone to replace Danny's position up here. While I'm sure they are saving tons of money, it's at the customer's inconvenience and expense. My estimate conducted by Brian down in Anchorage was literally double what Danny quoted me last year for the exact same furniture and number of totes. I'm not sure if that means the men they have up here are less efficient and motivated than the team Danny ran or if Brian just doesn't know what he's doing or what's going on with that. The person running the phone was rude and had no sympathy for the inconvenience or my concern that Danny or even a Danny-equivalent was no longer with the company. Eliminating his position or otherwise failing to replace him was not a sound business decision and urges me to recommend you find someone else local. I am going with Sourdough. Everyone I've talked to is here in Fairbanks, they answer the phone right away, and they don't require a burdensome and inconveniencing pre-move inspection. It's just a straight-forward hourly rate that happens to be $40 cheaper than GNVL's now joke of an operation with only a one our rather than two our minimum. In fact, I almost regret not going with them last year, but someone personally recommended Danny to me. Unfortunately, it's now clear Danny was all GNVL ever had going for it and they managed to lose him!

Absolutely HORRIBLE! We had clothes and coats stacked neatly and ORGANIZED away by item in different Tough boxes. They removed all those clothes to act as a barrier with other things, for example. The box of office supplies had baby clothes and shoes. My box of kitchen supplies had clothes, kids toys and SHOES! They even stuffed dressers with random things. My crockpot WAS IN A box that says TOYS along with a bunch of random things. So THANKS!

I recently relocated to AK from AZ and Golden North Van Lines took care of me from the onset. Service was impeccable. Communication was constant and I was always able to contact someone. Kim was my first point of contact and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the moving process. I was always informed of the process from the beginning to end. Her assistant, Dariya, was amazing. I also used GNVL to ship my car from Ak to FL and she held my hand throughout the whole venture. Lastly, I had a myriad of other moving-related issues that she helped with. Thanks for everything, Dariya!

You cannot go wrong with this company. I would not hesistate to use them again in the future.
