Our family stopped here on the way into utah! Reminds me so much of the hoover dam area. There is place to pull off right at it. There is a walkway across the bridge you can use to get a better look!

It's a nice visitor center. The set up to see the history of the damn, how it works and how it compares was nice.
They no longer do tours. The information desk at 2 in the afternoon was not manned but it was busy sending everyone to the gift shop for info. You should stop here.

Impressive historical marvel of engineering. Note that currently the Ranger staff are not giving any damn dam tours (see photo).

This seems to be a favorite stop for tourists from out-of-country. When we were visiting, we were the only ones there (that we could hear) speaking English with an American accent besides the staff behind the desk.

Welcome to all our friends from around the world! We met a very lovely French family while checking out the relief map of the dam and Lake Powell.

This was a beautiful, fun and educational place to visit, plus it is completely free! Great exhibits and a video about the dam, plus a gorgeous view from inside. The gift shop was also very nice.

Nice spot to stretch your legs en route to Grand Canyon or the other way to Zion National.

The dam is massive, and you get a breathtaking view of the Colorado River below.

There is a museum nearby as well. It's a fun spot to learn, take a break, and admire the scenery around Lake Powell.

Glen Canyon Dam is the 2nd largest Dam in the U.S.

It wasn't too crowded and tickets can be purchased inside for a tour. I’ve never done the tour.

You can walk the bridge for free and overlook the Dam between the canyon. There are areas on the bridge walkway to take photos without the fence ruining the photos!!

The Dam holds up the water level of this area. It's arched and beautiful. You can see amazing views and take home gifts.

Pleasantly surprised at the Glen Canyon Dam visitor center! It was like a small museum, but free entry. Lots of great visuals and a kiddie area for the kids to earn their junior ranger badges. The gift shop was large, and had quite the selection of items. We spent about an hour here.

Check out the nearby visitors center for information about this dam and Lake Powell. Not as big as Hoover Dam but pretty close, otherwise a great view of the second largest dam in the US.
