Tried the new ultra-thin tavern pizza and it was awesome! How they get it so thin Edges were nicely charred, crust was crisp throughout, cheese just right, saucy sauce, classic sausage was savory and generously topped. A Chicago take on St. Louis cracker-style pizza, and Giuseppe's did it right.

We were happy about finally find a place with a delicious vegan gluten free pizza and we had been ordering during the week and we didn’t have problems before.
Today, Saturday (August 10) we decided to get another one, when I opened the box I could see that whoever made this one was a different person because added some different vegetables like red pepper and something that I wasn’t able to recognize.
Then I ate two pieces and I had a horrible diarrhea my husband almost took me to the emergency… (I am lactose intolerant). Unfortunately we found pieces of cheese under the filling and this was not difficult to find as there was a good amount of cheese! I really don’t think it was an accident because of the way and amount of the cheese we found. We took some pictures and videos…

I may be wrong about who made this pizza, but it seems to be a different person by the way it was organized and the different ingredients on the pizza because I had bought cheeseless veg pizza-gluten free for dinner before.
But today was the last time!

It's take out and delivery only, but the food is delicious. Try their new tavern style pizza. It's excellent!

Check your pizza before you leave. Giuseppe's is usually solid. Sometimes the bottom can be a little soggy; but this time it looks like somebody stuck their finger in the middle and played with the cheese after it came out. I was too hungry and didn't feel like going out to call and complain. I'll just check the pizza before waking out next time.

I began with the Italian Beef Egg Rolls. It came in two pieces. The skin of the egg roll is a lovely crispy golden brown tint. The egg roll stuffing was well-seasoned, the mozzarella ratio was ideal, it didn't overshadow the other ingredients, and it has a slight spicy flavor from the giardiniera. It came with Au Jus, a dipping sauce to accompany with the egg rolls. The broth is light, yet it has a robust beef flavor.

For my main meal, I ordered the jumbo slice pizza, which is equivalent to two slices. The toppings were basic, consisting only of bacon and spinach, and they turned out wonderfully. The sauce is light with a tinge of sweetness. The cheese is gooey and evenly dispersed around the pie. The crunchy bacon piece was savory. I wished the spinach hadn't been overcooked in order to keep its vivid green color, which would have added more color to the pizza.

The grand finale dessert was lemon knots. It's already prepared and available at the counter. Fortunately, I had a can of San Pellegrino to wash it down because the dough was dry. The dough was coated in a slight lemon flavor and a weird aftertaste that I can't identify. The icing is old and crumbly. This is the only item I was dissatisfied with.

The service was efficient. I'm impressed because the meal arrived hot and fresh. I appreciate the staff who is friendly and knowledgable about the menu. She was responsive of my needs in order to make my dine-in experience more enjoyable, despite the fact that the location was not suitable for dine-in.

Decent tasting pizza, but a little pricey. $18.00 for a 12" sausage pizza is pretty high. I guess there are coupons out there but I didn't have one. Also, owners, trust me, your fried mushrooms are really not good. They have no taste and are mushy. Also pricey at $8. I get them all over and these were blah.
I didn't hate the place, but Des Plaines has other options that are a little better. Just my opinion.

We had Giuseppe’s cater our Christmas Eve Dinner. We wanted it extra special because our relatives came in from Italy for the Holidays. This was our first experience with Giuseppe’s Catering, and I guarantee, it won’t be our last! What a marvelous spread they served us. There really was no favorites, because all of it was our favorite. Thank you to all at this great place for making our Holiday a wonderful experience we won’t soon forget.

I've been eating here since the 1990;s when i lived in Des Plaines at the old location on lee street in the restaurant and delivery and the lunch buffet( which was awesome) . Always loved everything here especially their Italian beefs which were always huge. Since moving a little further I've found them on UberEATS and have been getting Italian beefs the last 2 years (along with pizza etc.) . I will say the Italian beefs are even better than they were years ago. Don't know what you're doing but keep it up!. To me.... this Italian beef is in a class with some of the best around Chicagoland and that is saying something.
