I've lived across the street from this store for 15 years. I've actually always been a fan of the store. When they installed the automated kiosk I actually thought that was a pretty good way to get in and out of the store quick when you didn't have a big load. They did reduce the number of cashiers but the kiosks worked pretty good. Now that they have tightened security with the kiosk they're incredibly hard to use. They're so hard to use I refuse to use them. However unfortunately they only have one or two tellers working the lanes and those tellers are always extremely slow. Every once in awhile they'll bring out a fast person to handle the backlog of customers who have been waiting a long time, but overall the experience is terrible. I wanted to leave this review as hopefully somebody who has some authority over that store will see it and actually try to address it. The customer experience is horrible going there and I dread going to the grocery store that I've been going to for the last 15 years. It's been like this for probably a couple years ever since they heightened security. My request would be to make the kiosks easier to use or add more tellers or staff it with tellers that are faster than the ones they typically staff them with. Either way, make it easier to get through the grocery store. I just spent 20 minutes trying to check out and there was only one person in front of me.

Don't ever order anything online from Giant. No one will ever contact you if the one item you order is out of stock. You'll end up spending time going to the store and then they'll tell you they don't have it or you have to do the investigation yourself. Not a fun way to spend a few hours.

The keypad needs to be repaired where you enter your phone number to get the barcode scanners

The barcode scanner I got needs to be repaired after I scan the items and got to the checkout counter, pushing the checkout option on the barcode scanner wouldn't work so that was a waste of my time.

I reported these two issues to the woman working the customer service desk tonight who was very unfriendly, Said she was aware of the issues and rather irritated that I was reporting the issues.

Thank you for the reply but I'm not going to take my time to call you and educate you on how to run your business, I've already pointed out to you publicly what some of your issues are, that should be enough information for you.

This comment is being edited on 30 January 2018, almost 3 months after the incident, and still there is no response or reply from Giant, even after showing the stuff in person to the attendants available there. Seems it's either regular affair or they don't care much about the client's views and reviews.

Wow does this store have a great selection! I usually shop at Aldi so I literally went aisle by aisle buying everything I could, including tons of new snack foods to try. I kid you not I was in there for probably an hour and a half just taking it all in. They also have an amazing selection of gluten free and health foods. Which comes down to the negative - this store is expensive! Would have to price compare it against Wegmans. I went on a late Saturday afternoon and the store was not crowded, which was a pleasant surprise. I also really liked the music playing! Can't say that often about a grocery store.

Update: The last two weeks, the hand scanners failed, making the experience miserable. Our go to grocery store
What we love are the handscanners. We scan groceries and put into our cloth bags. This allows us to price check, confirm two for one sales etc. At checkout, we scan the scanner, then checkout with android pay collecting 6% from Amex and leave. Half the time of our other grocery options.

There are some quirks. They have 4 brands of chopped canned green chilies, but no whole canned chilies. They don't carry halo top ice cream. Almond flour is rarely in stock. They are down to one working veggie price printer. Just a lack of paying attention to the details that forces us once a month to visit the zoo at whole paycheck.

Wow, there was enough food here to feed the entire cast of my 500-pound life! 🙀 Like y did no one tell me there was a store that just had a TON of food? Like I always thought my fridge was just like a spawning place for food but it turns out my mom's just been getting food from here and putting it in our fridge. I admit I was sad to learn that cuz I fr thought there was like a food fairy that refilled our fridge and it was like the tooth fairies boring but more important cousin but NO, my parents are the food fairies. Anyway great place and if you hot just go in the ice cream freezers there AMAZING. only downside is that there wasn't a giant in here which kinda makes me sad 🙏🏿😭🤭😨🙀

The Union Mill Giant is the closest Giant to where I live. I have shopped there regularly since the day it opened.
Many store managers have come and gone. One of the current managers, Kenneth, is the most outstanding by far.
Here’s why; he’s on the floor consistently greeting customers, providing assistance as needed, projecting a warm persona which has spread to all the employees I encounter, and he is very concerned about the safety of all employees and customers in the store. He also keeps an eagle eye out at all times for any suspicious activity. There are some grocery stores I no longer frequent due to a feeling of lack of safety. Not so at this store.
Additionally, the store is always clean, well stocked with a vast variety of choices, giving me a pleasant experience start to finish.
I am very impressed with the professional manner and diligence of store manager, Kenneth as well as all employees who work with him.
