My first time there. The food was ok I guess. I ordered the catfish plate. The catfish was two small pieces coated with way to much batter. The coleslaw was to sweet and had to much Mayo in it. The fries were good. The hush puppies were cooked way to hard on the outside and mushy on the inside. It was very expensive for just one person. Nearly $25 (including tip). The floor inside is very sticky. Didn't try the beans.

This is a nice clean New large building in a very small town. I absolutely was not expecting something so great there. I thought I was going to drive to a small Greasy diner.

Gosh was I shocked. They have some great southern food. I went around 4 o’clock and it was not crowded at all on a weekday. It probably got crowded by the time I left.

Good food . Southern food.

I’ve been there quite a few times. They have a small but good salad bar. Greens and beans are good.
Although I think the beans side should be far larger.

Early October visit 2024- chicken and dressing plate sounds great. There’s just to little chicken in it and not seasoned enough for either of us to ever order it again . And my husband’s pretty easy to impress. We gave that a 2-3.

Please do a turkey and sage dressing next, with whole piece of turkey. Not the chicken dressing plate.

Orders to go because I hate eating alone. Food was still hot when I got home. I ordered the chop steak, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and corn. The grilled onions on the Chop steak Was cooked perfectly The mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious and hot The only complaint was the corn looked really gross and I didn't need it But I'm assuming they've been holding it in a hot well all day long. I also like that they packed everything in separate containers including my gravy for my steak I can appreciate it not getting all over the place amazing customer service friendly atmosphere would definitely want to bring my family here for a sit-down dinner

What a beautiful family owned restaurant! Located in Praire Grove right across from the PG Battlefield. The building is large and open with many rooms. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and there was no wait on a Saturday late afternoon. They have a pie case with fresh desserts and a salad bar. The tables, booths, and decor were all beautiful polished wood and had a farm chic feel. They have daily blue plate specials for $12.99 but all were sold out when we went. We just got the salad bar, loaded baked potatoes, and the soup of the day (ham and bean). It was all good although the lettuce on the salad bar was all going brown and needed to be refreshed. I do wish they would add some fresh salads (potato, Macaroni, pea) and more fruit. Also the kids menu was the same ol thing- chicken fingers, grilled cheese, mac- I wish they would add a kids salad bar or veggie plate or even spaghetti! Kids want variety too! We will be back to try their desserts and specials!

Paid $30 for 2 cheeseburgers and fries, got them home, just a bun a piece of meat and a slice of cheese on them. No tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mustard or mayonnaise. Yes, I should have checked before I left. But I thought surely they can't mess up cheeseburgers. I was wrong. They made both my wife and I sick. Will not be going back. I have been picking up meals there since they opened.

I've been excited to try this place since I saw the sign on the building while it was going up. Then I saw they had fried green tomatoes on the menu!

The atmosphere: Walking into this beautiful new building, we we're all in awe. There were about 4 seating areas that I noticed. One area had sports on 2 TV's. The area that included the salad bar, where we dined, was a little too open and the seats uncomfortable for the amount of time you spend dining. The acoustics (noise level) was a little loud, but not horrible where you couldn't here people at your table.

The food: The menu had your basic southern foods plus some. Fried catfish, though not on the menu, it was a special that day. The Midwestern burger had the best flavor out of everything ordered at our table. The cheese curds, bacon, and garlic mayonnaise really made the flavors. Seeing the desserts available was nice and helped decide if or what you wanted. Other than the Midwestern burger the flavors were average.

Service: The wait was quite long for our food even though it wasn't extremely busy. No condiments were on the tables or extra napkins. Tarter sauce didn't come with the catfish. These two things would have saved our server running around so much. Malt vinegar wasn't available for the fish. I didn't bother the server by asking for lemon.

Price: The price was the biggest disappointment of the experience. It was about double what I would normally paid for a family of four. A slider, chicken strips, specialty burger, catfish, with 2 desserts to split.

I would like to try more of the menu, but I can't afford it.

Food was good. We had the pinto bean, greens, fried potatoes with cornbread. Not very seasoned. 1 piece of corn bread but the waitress did bring my husband a second piece. Fried green tomatoes, which was $9 but only about 4 pieces. Terrible deal on that. Good service. Tea was good.
