I just got off the phone with the most rude receptionist in the whole usa. She hung up on me while I was trying to explain we lost everything in a dire and she told me I was being disrespectful. She wouldn't let me talk. All I wanted was to cancel my food stamps and she treated me like a child. I'm so glad I left your horrible county.

It’s disgusting how little these people care about the children/adults that it’s their job to protect. They seem to have no real understanding that these are real peoples’ lives and safety they’re dealing with. They treated my situation as if it didn’t matter to them at all…. No urgency in communicating with me. No response to an email that I was guaranteed I would get a response to. And then they dismissed a very serious report with little to no actual investigation into the matter, and then didn’t even have the decency to communicate any sort of update to me at all. It’s sickening. I think the restaurant I commonly order pizza from does a better job of showing care and concern than this department of social services. Changes need to be made, Botetourt County. Protect our kids. Please.

I have been trying to make a report but they won’t investigate. First my son has a rash leaking infection on his pp and I get a letter stating that it don’t qualify for an assessment. Now my son has been losing weight quickly and it don’t qualify for a cps visit. Why won’t they help me with my son?!? What DOES qualify They’re so rude and disrespectful. I’ll be contacting someone about this. I am prepared to sue the department if something can be done about my son and they won’t help me.

These staff are very racist, arrogant and unprofessional. They have no respect for anybody or for your time. I have to leaving 20 voicemails for me to get a call back month later and sometime never. They send the paperwork and expect you to have filled, return and received on there end within 10 days of the mailed date how is that possible? when just the mail takes 7-10 days just to get to you? Plus they will act as if they didn’t receive you paperworks. Will see what the Richmond office will do and I suggest anybody who’s having issues reading from the reviews should make a report to the Richmond office.

They refuse to notify you of whom your case worker is. Refuse to return an email or phone call, they do not follow up on reports based off names. Unprofessional, racists, bias.

Botetourt County should be embarrassed by the group of staff working here representing their county. Very unprofessional & rude staff & lack of confidentiality. Think about hiring professionals who know how to treat people. Obviously those in charge need training on how to run an organization.
