I paid a fortune to Clutter to break my furniture!! I’m devastated. My $400 vanity that I saved up for and only purchased 3 months ago, in pieces!! Totally broken. Had to throw it out. TV Console, legs cracked off, top bent, back sliced open, completely broken. Tall storage cabinet was decapitated like a severed head. The drawer and legs broken as well. Had to also throw it out. Unbelievable!!! I’ve moved 11 times in my life- never had anything broken. This was my first time with Clutter to handle both parts of our move (moving into public storage and then into a new apt) only moving company ever to break stuff!! And also, the MOST expensive by a long shot!! Brand new A/C unit was dropped off the truck; I even have a photo of the mover picking up the pieces of it in the parking lot. $400 mandolin tossed into a box, no padding around it (we paid for clutter to pack- HUGE mistake) got a dent in it! I’ve suffered $2100 worth of damage at least. I’m devastated. Paid this company $1600 to move it to storage and $1100 to move it out. Huge mistake. I’ve filed a claim. I hope they reimburse me or next I got to YELP, Facebook, IG, Tik tok— blasting all
over my socials. Do NOT use this company unless it’s your ex’s stuff you’re moving and you don’t care that it gets destroyed!!!

UPDATE! They only offered to reimburse me $55 for over $2100 worth of damage!! I am reporting this company to the better business bureau. Outrageous. They should be put out of business. Moving is expensive enough and now I have to purchase all new furniture because their gross negligence broke my furniture?!

If I could do zero stars I would. Do NOT use this moving company. I placed my belongings into storage in July and then requested a small portion of my belongings approximately two months later. When the delivery people arrived, I noticed something was wrong immediately. I used a clear tape to pack my boxes, photos attached to show. When some of the boxes arrived looking like they have been altered and using a brown colored tape, I had a feeling something was wrong. Out of roughly 10 boxes, 2 had been torn opened and re-taped. The thing is, the way they tore the boxes was very unusual and deliberate.

Of course there are some expensive items missing and of course Clutter tells me to go ahead and file a claim. The claims process while simple left a lot to be desired. There's not enough space to write down exactly all the details you need nor is there a way to explain if there were issues to point out - LIKE THE BOX BEING RE-TAPED USING A DIFFERENT COLOR TAPE. To me, a reasonable person would look at the photos I provided, heard my detailed account, and that should be pretty open and shut. Instead, somebody by the name of KENDALL from their Trust and Safety thought he had found the criminal mastermind, which would be me. His only concerns were - "How do I know for certain those items were inside the boxes?" followed with - "Why did it take you X amount of days to file a claim?" Not once did he shed a fraction of care or concern, at one point cutting me off telling me - "I have to let you go now. Take care." The other part that blows my mind is, at one point Kendall started to insinuate that it was odd that a videogame console and some expensive sneakers were missing. WHAT DID YOU THINK PEOPLE WOULD STEAL, KENDALL? My used socks? It was the most ridiculous experience dealing with Kendall, to the point I asked for somebody else. Enter Grace, who I genuinely cannot think of one negative thing to say about. It's not her fault, she got thrust into this third hand basically.

There are some other details anybody who is currently using Clutter needs to know. The facilities are NOT climate controlled. How do I know? I had a pair of brand new white canvas Nikes. They have started to turn yellow / orange around the metal lace holes. The canvas itself is now different shades of white, more so an eggshell leaning towards jaundice. I have items that did not arrive that I requested and there's been no mention of that except - "it's in your storage unit." How? It never appeared when I requested it and the ONLY comment made is - "we found it in your storage." Found it how? Was it on the truck and they forgot? Or did somebody not even load it? Or did you find one of the other four identical items and assume it's the missing one?

So to recap, the initial pickup was pleasant. The actual movers have been wonderful to deal with. It's the rest of Clutter that is absolutely not worth your time, effort or money. There has been blatant theft and they just claim they're doing an "internal investigation" and then "Clutter finds no wrong doing conducted by it's employees." So who the hell did that in the photos Did I somehow manage to drive to the facilities, tear my own boxes, steal my items, then request for the boxes to then file a claim? Make it make sense.

Cannot stress enough, READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. Everyones saying something along the same vein, bottom line, dishonest, deceptive company and your items are NOT safe in their possession.

Canceled on me morning of, leaving me in a panic and extreme difficulty finding an alternate mover and storage facility the day of. I had booked almost a month prior, so this is unacceptable. Told them the circumstances in which they would be moving my things, but they still canceled even when they were at my address. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Customer service is non existent, and they outsource their employees, so you’re not talking to anyone who can actually help. Beware and do not book this company! They will screw you over in an otherwise already stressful moving situation.

I had a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience with Clutter during my recent move from New Jersey to D.C. After trusting them to safely pack, store, and return my belongings, several items went missing, and one was returned broken.

Here’s a summary of what was lost or damaged:
• A 44-inch Vizio TV
• A fully stocked toolbox (including drills, screwdrivers, nails, measuring tape, and more)
• A mattress topper
• An air humidifier
• A lamp that arrived broken

Despite having proof that these items were stored with Clutter—screenshots and emails showing them listed on my account—these items mysteriously disappeared during the return process. On the delivery date, we were informed that some items would be delayed, only to have them completely vanish from our account afterward. When we contacted customer service, one of their representatives had the audacity to claim the items were never there.

What’s worse is the complete lack of accountability. After numerous calls and emails, Clutter has repeatedly denied responsibility, refused to take any meaningful steps to resolve the issue, and dismissed the evidence we provided. Their communication has been dismissive and unhelpful, adding insult to injury.

I trusted Clutter with my hard-earned money and valuable belongings, but their carelessness and refusal to take responsibility have cost me over $1,000 in lost items. Their unprofessionalism and mismanagement are beyond disappointing—they are infuriating.

If you’re considering Clutter for your moving or storage needs, think twice. I regret not using a more reputable and professional company.

I will be filing claims with the Better Business Bureau and small claims court to seek compensation for my losses. Additionally, I will continue to share my experience to warn others about their services.

Trusting Clutter was a mistake I will never make again.

If you only read one review of Clutter, please read mine. You are going to want to avoid using this company AT ALL COSTS. I chose to use Clutter due to having to move on very short notice and they offered free packing and delivery if you utilized their storage.

You get what you (don't) pay for and then some. The crew who packed my belongings did so carelessly and recklessly. I am missing a $150 soundbar, an 18x24 picture frame and irreplaceable art print, and have several damaged items including furniture and books. The packers put all of my belongings on top of each other in wardrobe boxes making it incredibly difficult to unpack. No rhyme or reason was used in deciding what went into which box, and somehow no glass managed to break in spite of countless glass items being tossed into boxes unwrapped.

The packing crew also told me they'd take 4 hours to pack my 1-bedroom apartment but after 8 hours they were still there and allegedly being told they had to drop everything and leave. That meant leaving behind a $150 floor lamp, a $300 area rug, and my $50 shower curtain rod. All of the money I saved by choosing Clutter will be spent replacing the things they left behind, lost, or damaged.

I have filed multiple claims for my missing and damaged items and Clutter wants to give me pennies on the dollar for what they took from me. They are unscrupulous and do not care about you or your belongings. Please choose wisely when you're considering movers and storage and steer clear of Clutter.

As a property manager I had 3 units for them to service...would you believe that they would not service us because they REQUIRE an email address for each unit that we are using their services for?
So if I had to relocate 5 tenants from the same building, I would be required to provide them 5 email addresses, or they cannot service us.... Who's the genius with that idea. Literally thousands of dollars thrown away, because of their poorly thoughout business structure.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. My husband and I booked a crosstown move in Los Angeles several weeks in advance. Four days before our move (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, so really ONE business day) they CANCELED our move by TEXT. They were completely unapologetic on the phone and left us scrambling to book new movers at the last minute before a holiday. Thankfully we managed to find another company, but with much stress and at a higher cost. Having now read the other horrible reviews of Clutter, hopefully we are better off not having them move our things.
