Of course, as is the way it often happens, our furnace started making horrible noises the evening of December 23rd (right before Christmas 🤦🏻‍♀️) I called Bourne (Lyndonville) the morning of the 24th, and spoke to a very nice and helpful woman who scheduled a tech for later that day. He came out and replaced a faulty part, and then it seemed to be running much better.
That lasted through Christmas night, and then the horrible noises started again.
I called Bourne again the morning of the 26th, (spoke with another really nice woman), and had a tech scheduled to come out again.
This time it was determined that the igniter was bad, and it was replaced.
Now, all is well, and the furnace is back to running smoothly.
I can’t thank Bourne’s Energy staff and techs enough for helping us out during the holidays. They were there when we needed them, and that says a lot.

Save yourself a headache and just go somewhere else. The customer service is TERRIBLE! They’re rude and unwilling to help. We ordered oil and PAID for it on Monday December 9. We were told it would be here on Tuesday 12/17. I got home tonight, and guess what? We’re out of oil and no delivery. My husband called and spoke to CSR who was SO incredibly rude it’s unbelievable. He explained the situation, she was completely UNCARING told him that if we wanted oil tonight; than it was going to be a $395 after hours fee and there during hour fee is $350 (I’ll get into that later) he told her that we were supposed to get a delivery today. CSR argued with him, called him a liar multiple times about multiple things. She said that the delivery has always been scheduled for Friday. We have been WAITING for this delivery (as I sit here shivering). We knew when to expect it (or when they told us it was going to be). After a lot of fighting back and forth and then actually having to record the conversation and tell them we were doing so. They’re going to “make it right” and come out to deliver tonight at no extra fee. Which reminds me. Let’s talk about said fee. They might as well find out in this review that I reported this predatory fee to the Attorney General’s office. And now I am drafting a letter to Dennis Labounty our local legislator. There should be a regulation on what you can charge someone in winter for a fee. It’s predatory and greedy. You’re not kidding anyone as to why it’s so high. To deter someone from doing it. If I’m willing to pay a fee AND wait until the next business day it shouldn’t be that outrageous! They should feel ashamed of themselves. The kicker about this entire situation is A.) we live about 3 miles from their office. B) they passed up delivering to us TWICE knowing we were low. They “pushed” our ticket out TWICE. They should NOT be pushing their will call customer. They should know they need to push their automatic delivery customers. This has been the most frustrating and worst experience with customer service. You beat Georgia from CN Brown, bravo!! I hope this saves a lot of people a headache. Heading to Irving myself! Hope this brings your 3 stars down another, where it belongs!

First, they charge a huge dispatch fee, even for scheduled cleaning appointments- so add on $95 right away to any of their services.
Their 'service professionals' will clean and service your furnace THEN test it to see if it will pass inspection. Even though I called about getting an estimate with them for a new one AND they knew the year before when they cleaned it and came for an emergency call, it was nearing the end. You'd think the request for an estimate would be a huge clue even if they had never seen my furnace before. I was hoping to get one more year from the old one but realistically, even I a non 'service professional' knew that the furnace was almost ready to retire. So, when they decommissioned my furnace AFTER cleaning it (because they tested it after, I guess this is what they do as a company, clean, then test..) I assumed the only bad news from the whole visit was that I needed a brand new furnace. Nope. Turns out I had to pay anyway for the cleaning. They gave me a discount because I begged, explaining how I now needed a whole new furnace, a huge expense for me, a working person. I even got an estimate from them for the replacement, thinking they'd want to keep my business. Bourne’s idea of a discount, instead of $485 for bad news I paid $320. Yep. That's a lot of money to spend on a funeral for a furnace. It was nice and clean when it went to scrap.
They did let me pay in installments and only charged me a small finance charge. That was nice.
Maybe if you have a lot of money, choose Bourne’s. I need a little more common sense in the company that is going to be in charge of my heating needs. Vermont winters are just a bit too frosty and my bank account just isn't big enough to pay for professionals who are still learning. Bye, bye Bourne’s.

As a small business owner, time is money but money is money as well. After years of dealing with the cooperate structure of Irving where I was not able to talk to the same person twice and it took hours to get problems solved, I switched to Bournes. Previously I had assumed that Irving's 'rate locks ' were the only way to ensure a good price on heating fuel. After my switch to Bournes i wouldn't switch back even if pricing was better at Irving (which it is not). Their small town approach makes talking to someone much easier. I can call the local office and get through immediately without having to go though a menu. I have saved time and money.

Extremely nice people. Great service. I changed from Fred's for several reasons (refused to give me an account, extremely rude and unprofessional phone answerer, broken propane gauge that they never fixed and then charged me extra when I ran out). I'm glad I did.

Dishonest people and leaving me without heat for month then bills me without filling my tank.
