I was dreading my move from NY to Lisbon, Portugal, and I was terrified after reading so many terrible stories of people that moved from the USA to Europe. I got coned by a company before finding Blue Horizon.
I had my home of 3 bedrooms and my whole life packed up in boxes, and all my belongings needed to arrive in Lisbon in one piece. Initially, I spoke to so many other companies. But my radar was not happy. I couldn’t possibly get myself involved with anybody that was not going to be professional and efficient. I found Blue Horizon. My first contact with blue Horizon was with Michelle, who was terrific. Michelle was the reason why I decided to go with this company. Moving is such a big deal, and I needed to talk to someone who understood how complex and challenging the process of moving is, physically and emotionally. I had another company that seemed nice, but Michelle put my heart at ease immediately. Thank God I Chose Blue Horizon. They are AMAZING!!!! From Michelle to David Rico to Antonio Neves to the crew in NYC and the Crew in Lisbon. I cannot tell you how pleased I am. This job was seamless.
Professionalism, excellent customer service, efficiency, and honesty are some of their best traits. Not an ounce of attitude or difficulties with anyone from the team. I packed up my stuff myself because I wanted to make sure things were packed my way. If I had known how good they were, I would have left them to do all the packing. But regardless of the packing, they did a fantastic job. I got a 40ft container, and it was big enough I had extra room for more items.
As you can see in the pictures, all boxes arrived in Lisbon intact. I had all my dishes and glassware in boxes. They arrived intact. Not one box was opened. They picked up all my belongings from storage in Brooklyn, NY, and delivered them to a warehouse in Lisboa. All I can say is THANK YOU 🙏 THANK YOU FOR DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB! For being professional and good people. I felt indeed taken care of. Not for one minute did I feel doubtful that my things were going to be mishandled or I was going to be taken advantage of. This was the most fantastic team Of people ever. I would give you ten stars if I could.

TL;DR: The shipment time increased from 6-8 to 35 weeks, 15 out of 21 boxes were damaged and I had a lot of broken items due to insufficient, unprofessional packaging, in addition to missing items. I would NOT recommend this company at all and I highly advise against their services.
To whom this may concern -
I had to move from Seattle back to Germany and based on reviews I selected Blue Horizon Shipping. The process of getting the quote and all the details figured out was quite good and I felt taken care of by the customer service and the salespeople. I got a quote within days for my relocation with an overall time of 6-8 weeks. After clarifying the covid-19 pandemic and specifically asking if this is included, I got an updated quote for 7-9 weeks - which was the fastest I received among three others which made me go with Blue Horizon. They weren’t the cheapest, but I opted for the speed, which I also stated in my call with them.
My goods were picked up and packed by - so called ‘professional packers’ on October 6th and I thought that’s great, and I will have my belongings by December. Time goes by and I got nervous, as I did not hear anything until mid-November to learn my shipment is delayed. First, I was told early, then late December, after that it should be mid-January and my goods finally arrived February 19, which makes the whole shipment process roughly 35 weeks.
Out of courtesy I got $150 customs covered to show the good will of Blue Horizon shipping. The day before my goods arrived, I got a call, that they will be at my place between 11-2p which I agreed on - the day itself, I got a call at 1 that they cannot make it and it will be 4p, again a call it will be 6p and finally a call at 9:30p that they are on their way while begging to still deliver same day as they are exhausted and want to be done. I agreed to that and I finally saw them at 11:30p. I helped them to unload the truck and to bring the goods up to my place (2nd floor which I paid for) but I wanted to be done.
Unfortunately, out of my 21 boxes one was missing and 15 were damaged, 3 of which I could see the inside and would be able to grab something. All my electronics were packed with cables plugged in and damaged, my Glasses were loose in one of the boxes without any protection, a painting was missing and my eGPU was packed in such an unprofessional way that the connector broke. Overall a damage of about $2,000. After consulting Blue Horizon, they told me the insurance is insufficient for this sort of damage, and that they already offered $150 for the delay to cover customs. They offered me additional $100 to keep my mouth shut and NOT talk about the whole incident.
To Summarize - shipment time increased from 6-8 to 35 weeks, 15 out of 21 boxes were damaged and I had a lot of broken items due to insufficient, unprofessional packaging, in addition to missing items. I would NOT recommend this company at all and I highly advise against their services.

We moved earlier this year from Dallas Texas to Toronto Ontario. Blue horizon provide a great price and service for the move. The shipment was picked up by friendly crew that took great care of our items. The transit time of 4 weeks from pick up to delivery was met. The delivery team was clean neat and very nice to work with. I definitely recommend Blue Horizon. Thank you

I have used Blue Horizon Shipping for three moves over the course of 15 years and have had a great experience each and every time. The first move was from NYC to Europe and it was daunting as it was my first international move. The owner, David, was extremely helpful in explaining the process step-by-step. Everything arrived on-time and on-budget and it was stress-free. When I moved back to the States 5 years later - I did not hesitate to contact them again and had a similarly frictionless experience.
Recently I had to unexpectedly move again within the US and reached out again to see if BHS could help out in a pinch - David hooked me up with a local mover and once again provided a great experience and saved me a lot of stress.
I hope I won't be moving anytime soon again - but if I do I will not hesitate to contact Blue Horizon Shipping.

Don't use this 2-3 person brokerage. They just use Upakweship and likely other random companies who actually do the shipping. Do your research on this company it will be worth your time. If you pack your own things ask about insurance and watch the lies start if you haven’t already!

Phenomenal experience with Blue Horizon!!! I was so nervous finding the right international movers for my big jump from Miami to London and had spoken to some super sketchy options---So glad I went with them vs. the others. (For reference, they seemed the most reputable with A+ BBB accreditation and an up to date federal maritime license.)
The price was fair, they were super responsive + the movers involved were all super sweet guys, professional, and quick (even though my condo in Miami were massive d*ckheads about the truck parking).
All of my items, including a heavy, floor-length mirror, arrived in perfect condition from the US. I will definitely be recommending them again to anyone in the South Florida area who needs awesome international movers for a fair and reasonable price!
