I can’t speak highly enough about Paulo at Benicia Motorworks. He exemplifies what true integrity and expert knowledge look like in the automotive industry. I brought in my 2023 Audi A5 with a mysterious electrical drainage issue, and Paulo took the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem. Rather than charging me for unnecessary work, he clearly explained the issue and, knowing the car was still under factory warranty, actually referred me to the Audi dealership to have it addressed at no cost.

Where else can you find someone who genuinely puts the customer’s best interest first—even if it means sending you elsewhere to save money? That kind of honesty and professionalism is almost unheard of these days.

My wife and I are now loyal customers. We’ll continue bringing our European vehicles (Mercedes & Audi) to Benicia Motorworks because Paulo’s expertise, transparency, and communication are simply unmatched. He’s raised the bar for what quality service should be.

Paolo is the man himself!

If you have an exotic or just a beater this is the place to go. I had a problem that the Bentley dealer could not sort out. One visit to Paulo and no more problems.

While this may not be the cheapest place to repair your vehicle, it might be the best. There is a reason that Porsches, Ferrari, Aston Martins and others are waiting on Paulo to work his magic.

Paulo at Benicia Motorworks is phenomenal. I called for a quote regarding my Volkswagen Tiguan making a grinding noise. I work in the automotive industry and a couple of the guys at my job said it’s my rear brakes. When I called, Paulo was kind and informative. He let me know it probably my brakes but would like to do an inspection to make sure. He also said there are different sizes for the brakes on my vehicle and wouldn’t know an exact number until he was able to check my car out. I was at work at the time and the guys at work who heard the grinding noise said it was not safe to be driving, especially because I have two young children. Paulo was able to get me in the next day. It was actually his day off but came in so he could take a look at my Tiguan. He was able to complete the repairs that same day! He quoted me around $600 give or take and it came out to just above $600 before taxes and fees. I’m really happy I found Benicia Motorworks(thanks to Yelp!) because my car is safe again, I have peace of mind, and a new wonderful shop to take my car for repairs or general maintenance. Paulo has been helping me since 2023 via phone regarding some issues with my car. Finally yesterday, I actually got the chance to witness his knowledge, expertise and workmanship up close and in person. His estimate of my vehicle was spot on, show me all the issues. While driving on the freeway recently, I had the Check Engine light come on in my 2012 Volvo S60 and was able to speak to Paolo get into Benicia Motorworks quickly (my usual mechanic was many miles away) to diagnose the problem. Not only did Paolo sort out and fix the issue promptly but when the Check Engine light came on again a couple of months later, he searched out the original repair and found that a part that showed a fault had been installed and was the cause of the new problem. He repaired it and since the faulty part was still covered by his original warranty, did not charge me anything for the work. I feel like Paolo gave me impeccable service by taking the time to search out the problem and then fixing it without additional charge. I highly reccommend Benicia Motorworks for any work you may require on your European automobile.

Paulo at Benicia Motor works saved me. I had him re-inspect a car that I was in the process of buying and he not only helped me deduce the potential issues with the car. He offered advice on how to navigate a tricky situation and offered solid advice on how to move forward on a car that would be better suited for my situation. He was so patient and thorough with me and went far beyond what I could ever expect. I had my two small kids with me and they even got a tour of his many 'puzzles' he was working on. Got to see some sweet cars, hear what a badass engine sounds like and test some infrared : ) Truly if you're looking for a Mechanic who knows what he's doing, HONEST and overall great person.
