Wonderful experience. We were greeted right away. The different wine tasting, flight or full glass options were explained. Friendly, professional, prompt service. Had a red wine flight and a brut flight. Also ordered the cheese plate which had two types of crackers and three soft cheeses. You can taste at the bar, relax in the large, beautiful lounge, or sit in the back patio. Highly recommend!

Nice little place tucked away in a quiet rural downtown area. Great place to spend a weekend afternoon. Wine… excellent. Just finished my last take-home bottle, excellent quality, prices fair.
Menu is very limited but they do make a delicious hot chicken dip. It paired well with the Chambourcin Reserve I ordered.
Mini charcuterie board is very small and overpriced, not worth ordering. Might want to rethink this item.
Atmosphere is comfortable. Lounge is decent. Bar in the front, clean and inviting.
Best thing about August Hill is one of their employees, Jody… she is a superstar. Very friendly and made me feel welcome. Note to owners: give this person a raise!
Looking forward to visiting again in the Spring!

If you like to spend time on vacations checking out the local winery, this place is for you! All kinds of variants of sweet, dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, sparkling, etc. Some of them even had glitter in them!

We enjoyed ourselves and were very pleased with the tasting. I really liked the Trapolino, Norton, and Almond Infusion wines. The pictures I posted are for Illnatic, Emerald Apple, and Indigo, which were also very tasty.

There are 2 places - the wine tasting room on 106 Mill Street, Utica IL and the August Hill Winery at 21 N 2551st Road, Peru, IL. The wine tasting room has live music every weekend but you can’t be under 21 so not kid friendly. It was really disappointing bc of the inability to bring kids. It would be nice to bring family w young kids bc it’s nice to sit and relax. You can do tastings at both places but this tasting room is close to all the other restaurants and bars in Utica.

At the winery, where it’s more remote and they also have live music at times and you can do tours of the winery. Lorrie was great giving us a very detailed and friendly wine tasting. Favorite wines: We loved the Berlyn, Strawberry Peach Sangria, American Catawba, Caramel-Apple, Almond Infusion (sparkling), Augies Blackberry, and a fruity sweet dry red wine that was so smooth and delicious that everyone would love! Each of these are really sweet and flavorful great quality wines. We had live music here outdoors at the winery. The tour was great and the atmosphere very open and warm. But given my love of sweet wines this winery has very amazing wines. Tasting is $30 per person w 6 wines.

Friendly and helpful guides for the wine tasting. Cozy comfortable seating area for a glass of your choice. A nice club to join for you to receive bimonthly mailings. Fantastic roadside stop before a visit to Starved Rock (that is just up the road).

Decided to write a 5 star review to counter the lower reviews from people are snarky about not being able to bring CHILDREN into a WINERY! AH gets 5 stars from me BECAUSE they DON'T allow children in there. Common sense people, its not Denny's. We were previously wine club members, but rarely could make the trip over to pick up the bottles, so we discontinued it. But we love stopping in whenever we are in the area. The wines are delicious and the atmosphere is perfect.

We loved our time at the Tasting Room at August Hill. Our server was kind and friendly. We visited on a weekday near opening time and it was great because there was plenty of open spots. We also purchased a few bottles to take home with us.

what can we say about his place that they don't say about Heaven!!! Amazing experience and we brought home 4 bottles of our TOP CHOICES!! The apple flavors (holy moly) so good!!! We loved sampling all the goods and I'll be short on the review because the pics speak for themselves but my wife and I had the BEST TIME with the the best staff, wines, and company possible!!
