Made my first order tonight for dinner at Chop House. Very easy to use the website and my food was delivered 25 minutes EARLY. Our delivery driver was very clean, professional and not your typical door dasher in pj pants. I was very impressed. Will definitely use again. Happy to support a local company.

And then the actual tip.
Holy. Not to mention they tell you about the fees and taxes after you confirm the order.
Food was 40.13
Total was 62.09

Be more transparent about what the fees are, and how much the GRAND total will be.
If you did that your company wouldn't be littered with one star reviews, all complaining about the fees like you have right now.
I'm sure you know that. If you guys cared, you would do something about it with how many people have already complained about the same thing.

Ordered through Google and AK delivered picked up my order. Delivery fees a bit intense, but that's the tradeoff for a local company. Ordered during dinner rush and it came in decent time. Thank you for delivering!

Ordered 2 meals and egg rolls from basil ginger. The original menu price was just under 50$. The menu from ak delivered was over 60$. Then they added delivery fee, service charge and mandatory tip. AFTER using a free first time delivery coupon my total was 91$... for under 50$ worth of food. That 40$+ delivery fee was topped of with spilled food that had oil all over the bag.

I stopped using doordash because of the hidden fees injected into menu prices. This is much worse.

Ordered with them for the first time ever tonight, it was everybit as easy as DoorDash or Uber Eats and food was delivered on time and in good quality. I was nervous having never used them before but it was totally fine! Nice to have a local option, that does what it says it will do, with some different choices that the other guys don't have. They seem to be adding more places all the time as well. Anyhow, its a good price for what they are offering and you should try it out!

Very expensive. Just my experience…When comparing the restaurant cost against the AK Delivery site, I found each item was about $7-8 more then if I ordered it myself. (Didn’t know until afterwards).Then there was a $2 fuel charge, $6 tax/fee,$10 delivery fee (waived for 1st time) and minimum required tip amount. So, basically $44 extra to have it delivered. Food cost on bill was only $39. Yikes. Could have paid $23 (in regular prices)if picked up myself. Worth it to me? No. Fees for delivery, tax, misc is expected but such higher price for each item-not good. Gave 2 stars because they delivered in 1.15hr as estimated.

Ridiculous "Additional Fees" on top of "Delivery Fees" on top of HIDDEN charges, and an AUTOMATIC 33% "TIP".

For Example (Actual Order From the AKDelivery Website):
In Restaurant Cost of Meal: $10.95 (From Restaraunt's Website)

AKDelivery Cost of Meal: $12.87

Taxes And Fees: "Service Fee" $1.93 (taxes are an additional 0.37, but we'll
ignore that as there is a sales tax in Wasilla)

Actual LISTED Delivery Fee: $8.62

Automatically Added "TIP": $3.93

So, instead of just SAYING their fee is $16.40, they hide all these fees.

Note: I probably WOULD tip the driver, but MAKING me tip them 33% is absurd. You get a tip for good service, not for existing. For example, if the meal is half an hour to an hour late, I'm not tipping anyone. In addition, a 33% tip is moronic. 10% to 20% depending on quality of service.

IN RESPONSE TO AK DELIVERED:
All of the numbers come from your website, and the subtotal for something being in the cart. With the exception of the "In Restaurant" cost of the food, which came from the restaurant's website.

I did calculate the tip percentage based just off of the food and not the entire sub-total, that led me to the 33%. If you calculate the tip based off of the amount that includes all of the fees, then it comes out differently. So, in that respect, you are correct, it comes out to more like 16.5% if you include all of the fees before tip calculation. As to tip being adjustable, I wouldn't know as I neglected to order after seeing the fees. Though, I would recommend not assuming a gratuity regardless of the amount, as it's no longer a tip at that point, it's a fee.

You are also correct that I have not ordered from you before, the subtotal before I ordered convinced me not to. Unless the numbers change between picking what to order and actually ordering, my lack of an order is irrelevant.

Your assertion that other delivery places charge similar amounts is also irrelevant; I don't order from them for the same reason.

Also, calling an additional 15% (the 1.93 noted above) a "service fee" and already having a "delivery fee" is disingenuous for a company who's entire "service" is delivering food.

Regardless of your intent, the fact that you have a 15% service fee (on top of a delivery fee that is your service being provided) and different prices from the restaurant for the food itself, means I will not be ordering from you. As well as my opinion that other's shouldn't as well.

Hence the review.

Placed an order to surprise my mom with lunch + coffee while she was pulling a 16 hour shift and I couldn't make it to town - AK Delivered to the rescue! Delivery was taking a little longer than estimated but the driver gave me a call to update (it was during lunch time so I expected a delay) and was SO friendly. Even my mom raved about the service when he delivered. Love having a locally owned option for delivery and will be using them again for sure.
