What Scum Skateboards Offers

While primarily a skateboard shop, Scum Skateboards distinguishes itself through its focus on blank decks and a personalized approach. Recent feedback indicates the shop is a go-to destination for individuals seeking affordable, high-quality blank skate decks. This is particularly appealing in a market where blank decks often carry inflated prices. The owner, described as a down-to-earth guy, has been crafting boards for over two decades, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the business.

Pricing and Services

A significant draw for many customers is the competitive pricing on blank decks. The shop offers blanks ranging from $25 to $30, a considerably lower price point than many other retailers. Beyond the decks, Scum Skateboards also provides grip tape and offers the service of applying it to the deck, streamlining the setup process for skaters. A customer recently purchased a "Boardland" deck for $35 and grip tape for $5, highlighting the affordability and convenience offered.

Google My Business Insights

Scum Skateboards currently holds a 4-star rating on Google My Business, based on 4 reviews. This indicates a generally positive customer perception, with the shop consistently praised for its prices and personalized service. The limited number of reviews suggests the business relies heavily on word-of-mouth referrals and repeat customers, a testament to its strong local reputation. The high average rating suggests that any concerns are effectively addressed, leading to satisfied customers.

Further Considerations

The lack of a dedicated website might be a point to consider for potential customers. Relying on phone calls for inquiries and information is necessary. It's a destination for those who appreciate a smaller, more community-focused skate shop experience over the anonymity of larger chain stores. I was looking around for a cheaper in price blank deck to ride because everywhere else sells them high in price nowadays. Anywhere from 45-50ish but I called Scum skateboards here in Fullerton and its a one man show. He's been making boards for over 20 years! Super down to earth guy! He has blanks from 25 to 30. I got one of his "Boardland" decks for 35 and 5 for the grip tape! He put that on as well! Recommend to anyone that just wants a blank on the lower range price with good quality!
