Let me start by saying I work in china, so I’m a bit biased. I’d read amazing reviews about Mian so I decided to take the hike to San Gabriel. The good was ok. My spicy tofu with beef was so oily I could barely get the noodles out before they slid back into the bowl. It was very salty and simply to oily. My daughter ordered the chicken noodle and it tasted like Campbell’s noodle soup. My sister ordered the chicken the beef shank noodle and she fared the best. The ordering system is by QR code so there was no one to greet us or ask us how the food was. Not worth the hype or drive, I will not be coming back.

I always recommend Mian to my friends if they're looking for good spicy beef noodles, chili oil wonton, and steamed egg. You can't go wrong with any of those dishes, and the steamed egg is always a 500/10. Their food never disappoints, so good and comforting and their spice levels are always on point.

The noodles and soup here are extremely delicious and satisfying. The docked point is because of the beef rib. It was so large but extremely tough and difficult to eat. I could barely gnaw off any meat and made the whole noodle soup less satisfying. Any meat that I could get off became stuck in my teeth. Overall though it is an affordable meal with a clean interior and friendly staff.

This spot came up and when we arrived it had a Michelin rating and it lives up to it!

I ordered the pork dumpling, crispy pork pieces and beef noodle dish. The dumplings were phenomenal especially with the sweet sauce. The crispy pork pieces were delicious but wish they had something to dip them with but they were still crispy & on point with the seasoning. The beef noodle soup which is noted in an article posted on their wall was really good and I highly recommend these three dishes.

I’d definitely come back here again for the excellent customer service and Michelin star rated dishes.

Authentic, spicy, and absolutely delicious! This place nails it with their noodles—perfectly cooked with the right amount of kick. The flavors are bold, just like you’d expect from a top-tier Chinese noodle spot. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a hearty meal. If you’re craving authentic Chinese noodles with a real punch, this is the spot.

Mian is our regular go-to restaurant. Our children have a preference for their zha Jiang mian, chicken soup noodle, steamed eggs and crispy pork. For us, we enjoy the spicy sour beef noodle. Occasionally, we may add side noodles to it and they will add soup if you request. The ordering process through QR code is straightforward and simple. Our servers are proficient in English, which can potentially alleviate any issues that might arise due to incorrect food choices.

Friend wanted me to let him know what I thought of it, since he liked it, but he heard all sorts of mixed reviews from everybody he knew. I've never gotten around to trying it, so figured this was the chance. Pretty good. The soup was flavorful, and the noodles had a springiness to them. The popcorn Chicken we got was pretty good too! Fresh out of the fryer, the batter was really crispy!

Disappointing level of consistency on the dishes. The taste and quality of the dishes are quite hit and miss. The spicy and sour noodles are not sour and just spicy (at spice level 4). Sadly the spicy isn't adding any flavour, as they just taste bland. Incredibly disappointed with that.

However the spicy beef noodle soup has great flavour and a surprising amount of beef, but somehow the spicy part of the noodles is much lower even at the same spice level of 4. It was good enough to order again. But after this experience I am not sure I want to roll the dice on the taste again. Disappointing.

Service is designed to be pretty sparse. You order via their online menu system, and you can pay for it there too. The only time you would potentially interact with them is when they bring over the food. Not sure if I consider this sparse service or not. It almost feels like a fast food place with how little interaction there is.

But hey they use cute bowls for their noodles, so there's at least that.
