If I can give no stars I would, this company has the most lazy and inconsiderate employees. They were trusted by the military to pack our personal belongings and it was a nightmare! They did not follow specific directions on how I wanted things packed .They were given 4 days to pack and they worked about 4 hours a day and took almost 2 hour lunches and waited to the last day to pack our household. Meaning that all our belongings were simply thrown in boxes, not wrapped properly and no proper inventory was taken. They crammed things from the kitchen in the garage and didn't use the original boxes that were provided for safe transportation. My expensive computers were thrown with garage things and not packed in a box. Many screws and bolts are lost and now my furniture cannot be built .They blasted music so loud into the night that the entire neighborhood could hear. When they were loading my items they were just throwing boxes around with not a care. During my unpack so many things are broken and lost. They made everything so stressful and I hope they do not continue to serve military families because they simply DO NOT CARE !

Never, ever, *ever* use American Relocation Services to move. They packed our house in Anchorage . This is just some of the things they did:
- our brand new 75” tv was delivered like this - our sound bar is crammed into this box with it so I have no faith that it works... there is also another item packed into the tv box, but haven’t gotten to it yet to know what it is

- unlabeled, un-numbered boxes. Had no clue what was in half the boxes. Had to open them up while being brought in on the dolly to figure out where they went. Hardly taped and looked like they were thrown into crates

- a glass coffee mug, packed in my laundry hamper with towels? Not secured. Not packed into a box. Delivered just like this.

- random cords and wall mounts came out of the truck just like this. No clue which tv or electronics they go to.

- no hardware box. Missing hardware to our desk, crib, beds etc

This group of guys showed up on day 1, brought a HUGE, LOUD speaker and blared music. My neighbors can also comment on how loud the music was. Goofed off and got nothing done on day 1. NOTHING loaded. DIDNT even finish boxing the upstairs. Mind you, i had the upstairs packed up in totes, hanging clothes were bagged, and had sold all our master bedroom furniture. So they literally had two rooms to do. Called a 2nd team in on day 2 from Valdez ( several hours from Anchorage. I know that Cost the company some $$$) The second team showed up at 3pm and they rushed through the entire house and threw everything on the truck. They were trying to leave the house at 5:00 sharp and I had to make them go back in and take SEVERAL items that they left.

I am SO disappointed. I’m still looking for things that I may never find. Probably a couple thousand in damages....

The company who just delivered all of this to my house was completely shocked at how this was done. Starting the process to file claims on everything ?

If you're looking for a bargain, don't mind if some of your stuff is broken when it gets to you, and feel comfortable micro-managing everyone throughout the process and showing a lot of force to keep people honest and prevent them from charging you for services they didn't provide, go with these guys.

I will say they have very nice and professional people on the phone, fair prices, and generally good about the move, but you really have to keep them honest and track absolutely everything yourself.

If one of the movers breaks a table, you have to call the main office RIGHT AWAY.

If they agree they'll move your piano and charge you for piano handling services, then no one shows up that can handle the piano and almost drop it off the back of a truck, while the movers are still there you have to call and raise a stink or it'll be your word against theirs. These things happened to me.

Staff in Anchorage was friendly and helpful. They have folks to unload and package your goods at the dock there and the office people are nice. However, when I arrived to pick up the shipment at our destination, it was not what I expected at all. Our stuff was crated, and the people at the destination acted perturbed that I had bothered them, then simply sat the 2 giant, sealed wooden crates in the parking lot and told me I could load it myself and that I had to take the crates with me (I had a 15' UHaul and the crate was nowhere near fitting-this would only go on a semi truck, if you have one of those). I had to tear the crate open, load the whole thing while they watched, then take the giant crates apart with a crow bar and load them on top of all my stuff. Didn't help that it was (literally) about 110 degrees outside. So just beware that if you have your stuff shipped in crates by this company, you should plan to bring a semi truck or at least a set of power tools and a small army.

My husband and I received a move from ARS and it was an enjoyable and stress-free process. They showed up on time on 22 February and were ready to go to work. Three gentleman tackled all of our items in about 6 hours, and respectfully cared and packed each item correctly. We had quite a bit of high value items and there was no issue marking and packing them. We were impressed with the amount of time the guys knocked it out in, and we're overall satisfied with ARS and would recommend to anyone. Thank you for taking care of us!

In Jan I had my HHG packed because I was deploying. Every Soldier knows that we do not have a choice in the services that we use unless we want to come out of pocket. Well had I known that the individuals who packed my home would mishandled, mislabeled misplaced my goods I would of not allow them to separate and pack my home. On Jul 8 my HHG came from storage and only one individual had a knife to open boxes and the other two didn't. So I was kind enough to loan the first two knives I had available. When it came down to finding my high value item my Wii was no where to be found according to the paperwork. Which forced them to open all my boxes to only find it in a different box and thrown in like junk. Then when all said was done I was still missing items from my HHG. As the gentlemen were leaving I didn't think to check around or sadly their pockets because little did I know I was being robbed by the movers. I called the company about my experience and what had just occurred and calling consisting because til this day NO ONE has yet to call, apologize, or compensate for their poor staff who just boldly stole from me. By the second week in July I get home after a long week of rain; I go to cut my grass and find one out two knives and WOODEN pegs that are the center support for my bed. In the grass tossed as if there was NO respect for my personal items that were missing and stole from me by their staff.

My suggestion to all military personnel who are forced like myself. Dont lend them nothing to help them out. They will turn around and put it in their pockets. Don't allow them to separate in your home because "they will treat your stuff as their own". You might find it toss in a box like trash. I am about to get HHG packed again. I do not plan to be a kind hostest this time around and I'm checking pockets at the door. Bring your own water they will not be drinking mine. Smoke break not on my time.

Everyone was nice and polite but one of the movers accidentally broke the wood that was under my garage door and I saw him slip but he didnt say anything so I didnt think that it broke but later today when I went into the garage to grab a screwdriver that's when I noticed the wood hanging under the door. Other than that they got done really fast.

I've used them twice now to send frieght out of state. They have been incredibly kind, and worked with me on dates, payment and even storage. Their team is second to none. If you need to move, I highly suggest this company. Let them help make your relocation the best possible.
