Avoid. Shady practices. They tried claiming i damaged a vehicle when a plastic insert/blank in the bumper came out as I arrived to return the vehicle. This piece serves no actual purpose and just clips into the front. It’s worn out. I’m sure the next person who has the car it will fall out as well and they will go after you for 275$. Basic wear and tear of a vehicle shouldn’t be passed onto the renter.

A previous experience an employee tried to say I damaged the windshield. I showed them the pre inspection report showing all the chips in the windshield were noted. The look on their face was ā€œ like oh you got meā€. And then they said. Good thing you have the pre inspection report. Almost meaning like If I didn’t have that I would have been responsible for these existing issues.

There’s better options in Folsom. Use them instead.

First and foremost, I must mention the outstanding customer service provided by Kristine, the Hertz supervisor who assisted me. From the moment I walked into the rental office, Kristine greeted me with a warm smile and a genuinely friendly attitude. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions and explain the rental process in detail. It's refreshing to encounter someone so enthusiastic about their job and dedicated to ensuring a positive customer experience.

But the surprises didn't end there! As I was going through the paperwork, Kristine informed me that they had a special treat for me – an upgrade to a Nissan Rogue as a Manager special! The whole pickup process was quick and hassle-free, ensuring that I could hit the road without any unnecessary delays.

When it was time to return the car, I was pleased to find that the car rental return process was equally straightforward. I simply dropped off the car, and the Hertz team swiftly handled the inspection and paperwork. It was the perfect ending to my rental experience – no stress, no fuss.

Overall, I cannot praise Hertz enough for their exceptional service. From Kristine’s outstanding customer care to the hassle-free rental process and the fantastic car upgrade, everything was top-notch. Hertz has won me over as a loyal customer, and I won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable and enjoyable car rental experience.

Hertz was awesome to rent from. I had to extend my rental twice and both times they had no problem with it. I assumed the rental vehicle would not compare to my 2015 Kia optima sxl turbo, but I was pleasantly surprised, and impressed, with the Polestar. The power, technology, and convenience of the vehicle was very impressive. I would never have considered purchasing an electric vehicle before renting the Polestar. The only thing that was a bit of a hassle at first was charging it, but that was only due to my lack of knowledge. Once I learned about the different charging speeds of stations and at home, it was no problem. šŸ™‚

I am pleased to share my recent experience while renting a vehicle from Hertz Car Rental - Folsom - Riley Street. This location had the most competitive rates so I booked online with them one week in advance. I heard good things about Hertz so I felt confident I would be in good hands. A few days before picking up the rental, I called the location directly because I had questions. The customer service from Jay was great, and my questions were answered; however, I noticed that the overall online reviews were bad so I became concerned, strongly considering canceling to book with another location. I can honestly say, I am glad I stuck with them. I called back again to confirm the pickup time because I needed to leave the day after Christmas to visit my mom out of state. Cheyenne was the Hertz representative and she offered to meet me one hour before their actual opening time the day after Christmas (December 26, 2025) because I explained that I wanted to get an early start. She provided exceptional customer service from start to finish. She explained everything about the vehicle, providing a breakdown of all the costs associated with the rental. Everything went exactly as Cheyenne explained. I am happy so give a five star review. I would have no concerns renting through this location in the future. I want to thank Cheyenne, again, for providing such professional service.

This location doesn't have a good inventory of vehicles and passes that cost down to the customer. The Hertz website offers a choice to rent a gas or electric car, but at this location, they insist you have to rent a larger, more expensive vehicle to guarantee a gas car. I love that electric vehicles are more common to rent, but I need a gas car for my use.

I usually rent cars for work travel and must drive 400+ miles in one day so a gas car is needed. You can select a "Managers Special" or an "EV Manager Special" on the Hertz website. I rented from them for the first time a month ago and selected the non-EV Manager Special. When I arrived, they said they didn't have any gas cars at that price point. They insisted on charging me an extra $50 for an upgrade and said that I shouldn't select the "Manager Special" if I needed a gas car. I rented another car from them this week and this time renting a 2/4 economy class car. Well, when I showed up to pick up my car they pulled the same thing again but instead, they insisted I needed to upgrade to get a gas car. The upgrade was an extra $100+ and added that I needed to rent a full-size vehicle to guarantee a gas car. Additionally, I checked the website after I left, and it showed the same car I rented for $100 less. I called to ask why there was such a price discrepancy and they said it was for the last-minute change in my reservation, which wasn't my fault to begin with. The rep I spoke with said they would give me a voucher for my next car rental when I returned. When I returned, they gave me a $30 voucher... not sure how that adds up. I said that I likely wouldn't rent from them again because of this whole experience and they said, "Sorry to hear that".

I reserved my vehicle a month in advance for a trip . I gave them a call 20 minutes before I arrived to just check on everything. Thought I would, due to the bad reviews and they did not have my vehicle in and said they did not know when my vehicle would be available. They gave me an estimate of 3 to 4 hours later in the day, which was not possible for me at all, I don’t entirely understand the point of reserving a vehicle when they can’t even hold it for you. Every other rental I’ve ever used has always held the car for me. It was a 9 o’clock reservation not a hey some point in the day we might be able to get you a car! They weren’t willing to give a discount or anything for my inconvenience and I did not even get my vehicle from them. They took so long I had to go find another rental and my whole trip was delayed by a day. Absolutely ridiculous. .Their phone system was absolutely horrible. I don’t think the employees have any control over this. I think management is horrible please avoid this location!

We needed a car to go to SFO in the evening so we booked online a week before. When we arrived at the pick up time (10 AM), they informed us that no car was available and asked us to come back 1 hour later. When we come around 11:30 AM, the front desk said that the car was still not available. However, the helpful lady at the front desk helped to look for another car and we managed to get one an hour later (12:30 PM). Lucky that we had plenty of time before driving to San Francisco, otherwise, we would be super nervous about catching our plane on time.

I also notice that they don't have dropbox key (unlike other Hertz location). I had to make sure that the office is open to drop off the car - if we were renting or dropping off a car in the future.

No tap-to-pay available. And no solutions offered by the surly staff. Had to spend $30 to get a UBER ride home after being dropped off at the store. Who doesn’t offer Apple Pay these days?!? Get with the times, Herz
