As part of Food City you can always expect the prices to be 20-30% higher than most other grocery stores, especially compared to any of the walmarts near our area.
However, the Gas N Go usually could make it more worthwhile to shop here because you could use your fuel bucks to get more gas for less money. But man, that discount has been ruined for me after tonight. I stood there trying to get gas after the attendant was gone (pay at the pump, ya know?) and instead got nothing but frustration. Upon putting in my card the pump asked me "credit or debit", as usual. So I pressed credit, it then said "re-insert card". Upon doing so, it then repeated "credit or debit" to me, and when I pressed either credit or debit (I tried both) it just looped back around to "re-insert card". I stood there being looped around like that for 5 minutes before finally going to another gas station, which is not only annoying as hell for me since I just got off work, but also just ridiculous.

Maybe if this overly seedy, overly greedy company could manage to scrape the bottom of their financial barrel (because ya know, their profit margins are razor thin, considering they charge us all extra for every item compared to other grocery stores, and they apparently can't afford anything extra), they could get some more up to date pumps that were manufactured sometime within the last 10 years and can actually manage to take a debit/credit card as payment.

Instead, I got frustration, Food City didn't get my money for gas, and I've resolved to just bite the bullet and drive to the walmart in the next town over and SAVE MONEY on everyday items. I can't force others to do the same, and walmart for sure isn't a much better business to support, but they've made me less irritable in comparison in recent memory, so I'll just be going there from now on and skipping the overpriced dented can store our poor community has been stuck with since Food Lion closed in the early 2000's.

I have never been so upset at food city until today, having a sale on an item it's the workers responsibility to make sure the sale is correct not the customers we should not have to walk back to the sale and take a picture and bring it back to the cashier sorry there is a sales paper for a reason how are you going to tell the customer to find the sale in the sales paper like naw! We just left our stuff sitting there at check out and we left. We won't be shopping at food city anymore.

The prices are appalling. Always have been since school started, and spending 300$ on groceries just to get 30 cents off when you can get that price in town is awful.
