Not a good experience with this company. A couple of years ago I investigated sending an acoustic guitar from Anchorage to Boston that only really had a cheap case. The quotes were outrageous (started at over $200 for the slowest speed available) and I think I ended up just getting it packed and bringing it as a carry on. The packing job was cheap... just threw it in a box with bubble wrap and packing peanuts.

I just had an another package arrive carrying a framed picture from Anchorage and the packing was very mediocre. Bubble wrap and peanuts - the glass on the print is shattered and it was clearly just sliding around inside the box... peanuts had zero effect. Save your money... pack things yourself and ship them out. I remember commercials where they had custom boxes and spray foams and stuff as a kid but they use the cheapest things and charge a HUGE premium. Avoid at all costs.

My out of state move was seamless from start to finish thanks to The Packaging Store! They safely packaged my furniture and household goods, and my items arrived quickly and in perfect condition! The staff was extremely helpful, and no detail was overlooked. Highly recommend!

Been going here for years because they've got the best selection. But the service has been slipping. Today I walked in and ... nobody there. Not the first time this has happened. No bell on the door to let them know someone opened it. No bell on the counter to ring for service. I hung around waiting - could hear kids playing in the background, but no adults. Nobody showed up. So I left.

Outstanding service! Our family has used The Packaging Store a few times in the last year and a couple of those required palletized shipping. All our items (including fragile items) made it on time, without any damage, and at a reasonable price. Well worth it.

The staff at The Packaging Store did a great job of handing and packaging my belongings. I moved all my stuff, including sensitive items like high end home theater gear as well as music studio gear and instruments, thousands of miles. They palletized everything, strapped it and then "shrink wrapped" it (not sure what the stuff is called - like industrial-strength saran wrap). For the more expensive items they used PBC boards to build walls around the forklift sides. The bit I've unpacked seems to be in perfect shape. See the attached image (keep in mind, I'd already started unpacking some of it, so that's why the cardboard appears to be loose and the top is uncovered on the box on the right).

More, they did a fantastic job of handling me -- I was skeptical and a nervous wreck about everything arriving in tact, but Pete (the owner?) was a total pro and gently guided me through the process allaying my nerves.

All this said, it cost quite a bit more than I'd projected - BUT THIS WAS MY FAULT as I'd grossly underestimated the weight of everything. I was expecting it to be around $2000, but it ended up being around $3700 (for ~2700 lbs. and $10K of insurance) for five pallets of stuff (one of which being oversized).

I can't foresee ever moving to/from Alaska again, but if I did, I'd use The Packaging Store without any hesitation. Thanks, guys!

Moving an aging parent that was a 50+ year Alaskan resident to another state became a real can do with The Packaging Store and their staff. Every person I interacted with was wonderful and went beyond to give 200% customer service and to recommend with help on the receiving end here in Seattle. This was after other shipping options fell thru. I highly recommend this business as the place to take care of any shipping & packaging need!
