The Pumpernickel Pickle catered my daughter’s wedding on 3/15/2025. I’ve been in the event business for over 25 years and have worked with dozens and dozens of caterers. No caterer I’ve worked with has ever been as organized and detailed as The Pumpernickel Pickle.

The food was excellent, of course, but the service was 10/10! Their attention to detail was outstanding. We had bought a bunch of snacks for the weekend and they even organized and put them out after the meal!

As an event planner for the better part of a decade, I have never worked with a catering team like Pumpernickel Pickle. Leading up to our wedding, they were quick to respond and helped us curate the perfect menu.

Our bartenders made the perfect cocktails, and the service staff was one of a kind. We went with the micro wedding buffet-style dinner. Buffets can be of concern with guests rushing to get fed. The kind catering lead dismissed our guests in groups of 4, which led the way to perfect service. They even brought my husband and I our plates with a smile on their faces.

We did the mixed vintage china package and it was so beautiful! We thrifted our own glassware for our guests to keep and it paired perfectly with the china, enough where our guests wanted to keep their plates! The catering lead even reminded our DJ to make an announcement for our guests to keep their glasses.

Our menu was as follows; veggie shooters, chicken maple donuts, and crab cake sliders for passed hors d'oeurves (still dreaming about the donuts). Caesar wedge salad pre-plated was delicious and unique. For entrees, the manchego wild mushroom chicken and carved hanger steak. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauces with the steak were incredible. For sides, smoked gouda mac and cheese and bourbon-whipped sweet potatoes.

They even packed a bag of to-go food for my husband and me, including a signed card, mini champagne with disposable flutes, and wildflower seeds to plant.

I wish we lived in the area AND had an event every weekend just so we could eat their food and enjoy their company.

I have always heard wonderful things about this company but never had the opportunity to try their food! Their service and buffet were excellent!! I am always a little weary of my wedding day meal because usually by the time I (the wedding photographer) am eating dinner, it’s dry and doesn’t have much flavor. That has just been my experience at least... However this is by far the BEST chicken I have ever had a wedding and my wedding day assistants enjoyed it to! I also went back multiple times during the reception for their Strawberry Basil Lemonade! I know my couple enjoyed their dinner because they talked about it during their bonus portraits!! I can't wait to work with this talented team again!!

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Pumpernickel Pickle catering our intimate wedding. From the very first email, they were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and delightful. We had a few guests with food restrictions and they accommodated them perfectly. We attended a tasting before finalizing our menu and were SO glad we did…it let us taste so many incredible options, we were over the moon excited about the menu we finalized, and we also got to meet the owners who were just absolutely incredible.

The day of service was also unmatched. Every one of our guests raved about the appetizers (the edible corn dip spoons were a favorite!!) and the meals. Everything was exactly as we wanted. Isaac and Maggie served us and they were so incredibly prompt, professional, helpful, and friendly. We did buffet style but they served me and my groom first so we could continue talking with guests and eat. They also packed us the most thoughtful to-go package with huge servings of every dish, sustainable cutlery, and champagne bottles and glasses. My husband and I LOVED it as a late night meal when we finally settled into our hotel for the night.

Any couple considering PP for their special day should absolutely do it. We loved every aspect of our experience and cannot recommend enough.

We used Pumpernickel Pickle for our wedding this past weekend and what a dream. They were so helpful and responsive throughout the entire wedding planning process, and made every step feel so special. My family is from Cuba, so they made sure to create something representing my culture in preparing mini Cuban sandwiches (such a hit), and making sure my fiancé felt well loved and represented as well! Everyone raved about the food all night, service was lovely, and they even set out all of the china which made every table look so beautiful. A guest of ours had new dietary restrictions we were unaware of beforehand, and pumpernickel pickle took such care to prepare him his own meal so that he could enjoy the dinner with everyone else. I cannot express my gratitude for this lovely company.
