I have had storage units in different areas of Salt Lake for many years for many different reasons. When I first found A-1 Storage a couple years back it was okay the price was decent so I went with it. The manager back then was not the best every time I would come in he would push me to come back in a day or two or at a different time and let the other lady manager deal with anything I needed. So that was kind of annoying to always have to keep coming back when the lady manager was there just to get things handled. I have noticed within the last year or so, that manager isn’t in the office anymore or if he is then not as much. And the blonde lady manager has been in there a lot more. Which is such a plus. Personally I think that’s why the facility is so much cleaner now having that lady manager there more often. She is always nice and available when I have questions or to pay my bill. I didn’t think I would have stayed with this storage place this long, kinda just used them temporarily for the price I have other storage places closer to my house, but why would you change storage places when it’s getting better and cleaner. This price is still good too.

The units have no lighting inside due to power being cut. Very poor lighting outside. Don't expect to provide your own power as generators are not allowed. Organizing and downsizing is perceived as setting up a living space. The District Manager is very aggressive and accusatory. I inherited the unit and it's contents and have been up to date on all payments. I have not violated the "lease" in any way. During my lease there were new rules made up and enforced with no communication. This is not the place to seek a useable space... if you plan on anything but loading the area and never returning until you empty it, seek storage literally ANYWHERE else.. the office staff however, has remained amazing.

5 stars highly recommend!! We use to store down here two years ago because of its convenient location & larger storage options. However, there seemed to be a lot of suspicious activity, and the place was always dirty. After moving back to Utah I thought I would come check the place out one more time although the prices have definitely increased, you cannot beat the customer service. Mel really turned this place around, it’s always clean & they are always available. They even helped me move some of the heavier furniture into my unit. Thank you, Mel & Crista!

We moved 800 miles to Salt Lake City and we had to do it in two trips. The onsite manager was very understanding and showed a sincere interest in making sure we were able to rent the exact unit we needed. We appreciated the discount he gave us so much that we came back for a second unit. The units are clean and spacious and the location is out of way enough that there is very little foot traffic and the one thing I really noticed is the cleanliness of the outside too. No graffiti that I noticed. I would highly recommend A-1 for several reasons.

I love the unit I have at A-1 Storage. The things I like the most about it are that it is nearly 12 feet tall in the back, and around 11 feet tall in the front. Being 12 feet across this leaves room for two 4 foot wide shelves with a 4 foot path in between. This is by far more usable space than any unit I have ever had previously.

They do close off access at 9 PM and it would be nice at times to get in after hours, but that is more than made up for by the sturdy concrete structure. Other storage units are built of wood or tin, and tend to leak in my experience. The lack of 24 hour access also gives me a feeling of somewhat greater security in that other people can't get in either.

They do a good job at snow removal, but you'll want to keep a shovel in your unit for touching up around the doors. And when snow is melting, it does drip in front of the door. The unit itself is very dry, other than that first foot under the door.

There is only one way in and out of the place. This adds to security in that anyone stealing from the place has only one way out. But it is a little difficult to find the first time. I'd say it was well worth the effort to find the place.

There are no electrical outlets in the units, but there is a single light in the middle of the ceiling. A plug would be a great addition, but I guess the city won't let them put one in or something.

The staff is friendly and helpful. They are very good about providing reminders for payment, and have been willing to work well with the occasional late payment or other difficulty. The place is well maintained. There is a dumpster, but you can't put stuff in it.

Overall even given their limitations, this is by far the best storage unit I have ever had. I've been there for over a year now, and I recommended that another family member get a unit there. If it's good enough to recommend to my family, I feel plenty comfortable enough recommending it to anyone else.

I've been using A-1 Access Storage for awhile now, and I have been nothing but impressed. The staff has always been super friendly and genuinely helpful. The units are clean and easy to access. Plus the location is great. Their pricing is really unbeatable compared to other storage facilities I've used. I would highly recommend A-1 Access Storage to anyone needing to storage their stuff. Seriously! You will be pleased!
